try bell and elephant. You can get much better quotes than that, I get quotes of about £900 at the moment TPFT on a valver with mods declared, currently paying the equivalent about £1100 as I was half way through my policy when I changed to my current car. I'm 19, 2 years+ driving experience...
Yeah sorry I should have said that I would only recomend the way I mentioned if you know it can be done without spring compressors - as with the RS. Any other time you should definately use compressors.
For the 1.2/1.4 boxes I was talking about I only know up till 1995/1996 that they will fit. Theres probably a chance a 99 box would fit but the engine mount would be different (similar to 172 I would imagine but not really sure) and not worth the hassle really.
I've not done them on 172 but by the time the nut is almost off at the top of the strut you can probably compress it by hand for the last bit and then release the pressure slowly once you have the nut off. If you just keep unscrewing the nut from the top of the strut then it will probably come...
1.2 and 1.4 boxes will fit as well. 172 cup boxes will also fit but you would need a 172 mount and it needs to be modified slightly but I'm not sure exactly how.
Does anyone know if all the gmax shocks are the same for all their kits, i.e.are the ones with the 35mm kit the same as those with the 55mm kit?
Not looking for peoples opinions on these, just whether or not they are the same.
Either that or does anyone have a contact number for gmax?
Thanks.
Would totally agree with Gav. Even when I have the car on axle standsI always rest a few wheels underneath just incase and tbh wouldn't trust a tolley jack if I was going to be underneath the car at all.
me! lol. Don't know if you remember me asking over on RR about losing coolant, well sam is the one buying the RT off me so I want to sort it before he buys it. I still need to check its the water pump though.
As rich said the main problem with it is the fact the rear quarter is damaged as thats not really an easy fix. If you do sell it like that imo it won't be worth much, would also pretty much agree with rich's valuation of it undamaged but it could be worth a bit more/less depending on the...
lol, yeah I noticed a 182 behind me!!! DO you have a private plate or something iirc? I was on my way out to samg1988's house at that point. If you see me again give me a flash.
In a 19 16v it operated the trip computer thing, but on a clio its only used if you need to input the the immobiliser code - thats explained in the handbook.
It's just a difference in opinion really, imo if you are buying a car like that which is based on performance very much you want to see what the car is capable of. As long as the engine is fully warmed up its not going to do it any harm.
He was just showing me what the performance was like tbh. I would expect him to do that otherwise how am I going to know what the performance is like? After that he drove it at pretty low revs etc tbh.
Didn't mention the spec of the car either, it's as follows:
White 16v with anthracite williams wheel
Koni adjustable 35mm lowering kit
Resprayed a few months ago with new rear arches welded in
New brakes and bearings all round
Williams engine, chipped and rolling roaded at 172 and 174 bhp...
Only a minor problem tbh. It was abit annoying but its a 15 year old car so some things are to be expected to go wrong, and i know how much work has been done to the car so hopefully I shouldn't have any major problems. I went to the scrappies today and got a plastic bit off another clio and...
Well I finally got myself a clio hybrid today after a long time wanting one. I got the train at 8.00 from Edinburgh to Doncaster. By 11.00 I met mays off williamsclio to see his 170bhp hybrid. Then by about 11.01 mays had been pulled over by the police . Just before being pulled over he had put...
It's a joke just how much they are from renault. When I went in and asked for some I actually asked the guy if he was taking the piss when he said they were £4 odd each.
