Your not really supposed to mix different types as far as I'm aware. However, with the small amounts your talking to raise it from the minimum you could just top it up with water. Although I say that I don't know how much much it takes between the min/max marks on a 182 so wait until someone...
Personally I would try and get a box off someone on here or williamsclio if y ou have any doubts about the person you are buying it off currently, or from somewhere that will guarantee the box for a certain amount of time. There are plenty of people who break these cars on the forums and you...
It is possible, but there are a number of complications I believe. I don't know much about the electrical side of things though tbh so I'll leave explaining it to someone else. Try asking over on retro-renault.co.uk as chris_h on there will be able to explain. As I say though everytime I've...
The laguna 8v bottom end will not fit, think they can be put on an RSi head but definately not on a 16v head. Apparently the megane head is supposed to be a bit better as you say, but to run it you would need to have the head machined to run a dizzy cap in order to use a williams ECU. If you...
As far as I'm aware you would have to buy two sets of locking wheel nuts to accomodate the back and the front as the extended ones would be too long for the back, and the others too short for the front. It will look much better with the spacers left on imo, but removing them won't cause any...
Crank shaft sensor is a possibility as he suggested tbh. If there wasn't any spark then it would be my first guess. Easy enough to check when it's not working if you have an ohmeter, but if it's now working again it'll be impossible to tell until (if) it happens again.
If you were going for a valver engine you woulnd't necesarily need to change the bonnet, there is enough room under the standard bonnet, though you may need to make a few small changes to the inside of the bonnet. If you were going to go for a valver you would be as well getting a williams...
pretty straightforward. I'm not totally sure of the list but you can re-use the gearbox, driveshafts, dogbone mount, gearbox mount and the exhaust from the cat-back iirc. I'm not sure about the drivers side engine mount. I would imagine you would need to replace the fuel pump and radiator but...
I've done it that way before without any problems tbh, just put it where it's not going to jump to anything. I replied over on WC explaining what someone else meant and tbh it's a better way to do it. Removing the king lead from the coil can just cause more problems as I mentioned on WC as well.
Just make sure they are all the same roughly, should be around 13/14PSi iirc. I wouldn't worry too much about warming up the engine either. Just make sure you have the accelerator pedal flat to the floor each time you are cranking it over to take a reading.
Also, rather than remove the lead...
tbh the only sure fire way is to have a look at the block for extra strengthening veins if it's a williams engine or for F7R written in the top right hand corner of the block if it's a megane BE. All other items can be changed (dipstick, manifold etc etc) so the block is the only way of knowing...
from what I have read in the past sam you are better with 45 profile tyres. With 45's chances are you won't get any rubbing but with 50's there is a good chance you will, though I have heard of people who have had no rubbing on 50's.
pretty much what edde said, though check your hub bolt spacing - if it's 54mm you can re-use the ones you've already got. They are to be found on 1.2's sometimes.
Both posts above me are correct. It is not illegal to have a decat fitted to your car as long as it passes it's emissions test. It is simply that manufaturers have to fit them from the factory by law, but if you remove it 5 mins after leaving the dealership and it passes it's emissions it is...
What would you suggest?
My dad was asking me as one of his friends needs some new anti-virus software. I knwo there used to be AVG as a decent free option but from what I understand you now have to pay for that. Are there any more decent free ones about?
If there aren't any decent free...
^^^ the 1.2/1.4's very rarely seize though as they have a closed torsion bar. If they do seize it's usually in the middle and not out towards the wheel and as the middle is covered on the 1.2/1.4's it's unusual for them to rust all that badly.
all being well yes. Not all that far, can be down there and back in a day. It'll just be a bugger if I get there and have to turn round as the car isn't as described, lol.
As yours seems to be a 1.2 there shouldn't really be a problem with seized bars etc, but would still be worth giving it a spray of WD40. Really easy to do tbh, just take your time and follow the guide.
I personally think you should steer well clear, that is only because I want it though, lol. As for a compression test, unless I knew the person knew what they were doing I would not let them do it - though in my case I would do it for them.
