So, today is my first experience on driving in snow and well .... in the first 10 minutes i slide into a curb at the bottom of my road. My wheel trim explodes into at least 30 pieces and i get a bent rim, should just be a bend out job. Lucky (for now) i cant see anything broken behind the wheel...
Will do, think it could just be the whole stick and everything that you have to remove, bit of a blag when you only have the 172 gear knob to choose from.
I have a MK2 Ph1, when i pull the handle up to get in the back, the passenger seat will tilt but wont slide on the rollers. I cant see anything stuck underneath.
Also when i pull the handle underneath it rolls freely, so there nothing stuck, anyone else had this problem? It worked when i first...
Hi, has anyone attemped to get the gear knob of a PH1, ive tried twisting and pulling. I think i remember someone saying they are glued on but cant remember. Thanks, Luke
Love it, i was looking at ej9's for a bit the insurance was only 2k on a 1.6 but my dad didnt want me having a 1.6 for my first car lol, i settled with a clio with insurance at £1600, but sure enough im more than happy with it.
So, here goes,

Hi thanks for the replies, I had the genuine fogs and genuine wire that connects them up so drilled a hole through to the engine bay with a grommet then threaded the wires over to the little panel next to the steering wheel with the light leveling switch, everything is grounded just gotta finish...
Looking to wire in some fog lights, does anyone know where any free, or the best gromets are to wire the button into the dash?, or do i need to drill a hole.
Thanks, Luke
The thing is, I went down the matte black route and did a proper job spraying, but because I live in the countryside and its flooded everywhere all the paint has come off because I couldn't lacquer them so I gave up and got some trims. Getting alloys in a few months anyway it'll do the job for...
So if your in my situation:
1. Can't afford alloy's
2. Don't want to risk your insurance.
3. Want turinis
I think i may have found a cheap £20 alternative:
So another month has gone by and a few more things to report:
Changed the dash clock to blue and sanded down the orange strip:
and i found these trims for £20 on ebay, personally the most turini looking trims and they look pretty decent:
and looking a lot better than the steelies.
Just wondering what the grey box is on top of this engine, mine has the brackets for something this must be it, if the air filter is at the back what's that?

All the above with few carbon wrapped bits such as the interior strips, possibly spray alloys black, skoda splitter £15 on ebay and should be decent, i know about the money situation, can't afford to do anything to mine.
Haha, this was the one I saw, yer there's a woman down my road and I don't think she even knows its a 172 lol, it was around 2pm the CS sticker is in the bottom right, when I saw the sticker my mate was like, what's the matter with you haha
Im into the more subtle mods so heres a few more bits that ive done
172 RenaultSport Door Sill Strips (in perfect condition, its just water on the letters):
Black gear gaitor and carbon wrapped hazard switch then wrapped it in clear vinyl to give it a real look (looks sexy).
Wrapped the...
