You obviously all have a bee in your bonnet.
I shall keep it simple and hopefully that might work.................
I had a 1992 honda civic, that cost me £200 for the cam belt at a MAIN Honda dealer
I now have a 2002 Renault Clio, and was asking how much it cost to do the same. Not had...
Again:
So forgetting all this and going back to what I asked before:-
How much does it cost to change JUST the cambelt, AND cambelt tensioner AND the idler pulley as Renault recommend?
If they are service items then how come they don't have a mileage or age limitation as a cambelt or air filter etc. They don't need replacing until they are worn. But a cambelt needs replacing after a certain milage or age.
So forgetting all this and going back to what I asked before:-
How...
No idea when the aux belt was changed. Never changed one on any car, they aren't service items, just replace them when worn.
What's a dephaser?
Cam belt for my previous car (Honda Civic) was £200. Why is this more than twice the price?
how do you get one of these diagnostic cables and programs? expensive or not? will the one you have only work on renault clios or other manufacturers ?
How does it reset itself then?
Is it just a matter of time as and when it resets itself? It was fine before I changed the CAT, it never ever came on before.
I thought I would need to take it to renault for them to reset it by them spending less than 5 mins connecting a diagnostic computer...
I have done the following and found a "t" and a "h". I reset them and we will have to see what happens. The engine management light is still on though.
Re: Does anyone know how to do a ECU reset on a Renault Clio
Theres a simple diagnostics built into the Mk2 Clio's
To access this, with...
Hi,
I replaced the CAT on my Clio 2002 and now Engine Management light stays on. I made sure I plugged in the electrical connector from sensor on this exhaust part.
Any idea what I have done. Suppose I should have disconnected the battery before doing this so the car wouldn't have know the...
Re: Can 'Update List' directly replace a 'Tuner List' without cutting or changing wir
Oh OK, thanks for your help with this. Much appreciated. I have just searched and found this on another post on another thread which confirms exactly what you have told me:
"Re: standard head unit update...
Hi,
I have a 2002 Clio. Does anyone know if an 'Update List' radio/cd directly replace a 'Tuner List' radio/cd without cutting or changing wires?
Basically, can I remove my 'Tuner List' one and plug in an 'Update List' one and it will work with no problems?
That's great, thanks so much for the link for cheap wheel alignment. Very much appreciated. I'll take it when I have time and let you all know if it cured it. Thanks again.
Thanks for all this guys. So Ill take it for a wheel alignment then to National Tyre or somewhere.
Oh and there are no uneven tyre wear and no vibrations at all at any speed up to 90mph.
Do you all reckon its as simple as that or not?
Oh, erm, no I don't. All I know is that they are basically all the same bolt with the same very thin thread.
Basically the bolts that hold the headlight in, all the bolts are the same as those. So I guess its a standard Clio or standard Renault bolt for stuff in the engine bay.
There is a thread on this that I have commented on, so click on my profile name on the left on here and have a look at my profile and see my comments. I just fixed this on my sisters car.
We just bought my sisters first car. A Clio Privilege 2002. I am starting to go through the few small problems on the car that need fixing.
Now the steering wheel is quite a bit over to the left when driving straight like on the motorway. If you put the steering wheel dead straight then you...
I went to Honda once and a tiny bolt for the air filter cover for my Dad's civic (yes rusted bolts - AGAIN) and they were something like £2.50 each. Just for a bolt !
So I was wondering if anyone knew of websites of companies where I could get them. But I think I will have to go to renault...
