You are correct that I have to get a manifold, got most of the other bits except injectors and ECU. I am going to try to trade the throttle bodies I have for a new set specifically made for 16v head which bolts straight to the head (no manifold). The place where I got the Jenveys now sells these...

I have bought 45mm Jenvey Throttle bodies for my Golf @ £800, now need programmable ECU which are about £650 for the one I want. Plan to fit myself so maybe add £2-300 for injectors and other bits and pieces but all in for £1700 ish?

Good idea fubar, I genuinely like that. When I was a kid, I wanted an original Beetle with a 911 engine in it fir that very reason.

Nice one Rich, and I have to agree that the Racing Blue looks better in the flesh. Was quite a relief when it was delvered as the light blue in the pics is not particularly to my liking. Thinking about it, maybe a Type R badge would look good on my 182?? Joke okay
