TBH it sounds like any old 172 and isn't worth getting wound up and blaming him for it. I bought my Vee and the next weekend it was off the road cos two coils gave up. Wasn't shaun's fault - he can't predict the future and neither can this chap. Yes, it's cost you a fair bit but 2litre Clios...
I'd not even be driving it home TBH. You can't plead ignorance because you've posted about it on the internets now, and can't say 'you HAD to drive it back'.
Plus, with the weather the way it is and the number of people pranging their cars, is it worth fcuking up your chances of being insured...
Not going anywhere near your dodgy dealings then, as the DVLA require a notification of destruction for Cat A and B, however Bs you can remove bits from.
Was this written off by the insurance company though? If it's flood damaged and claimed it's written off CatB/A, (parts or crusher) however if you don't claim then it's never actually recorded.
Maybe prices differ significantly between Exiges and Elises then, but that's the quote I had from Christopher Neil's when they said not to bend it... I've never claimed to be a 'specialist', I said from the outset that's what I'd been told by a dealer.
Sarcastic prick.
I obviously know nothing about the car, having owned one. Old one off, new one, painted and fitted to the back is around £10k depending on what you do to the rest of the car as really you're going to clout something underneath usually. Front slightly less.
Clownshoe.
A clamshell is about a grand? What have you been smoking?! Lotus parts are obscene. Scuff both and a £25k car is a write off. This is from a Lotus approved body repair specialist... Maybe acheivable if you use pattern parts, but insurance companies don't and even then I think you're struggling.
Wouldn't surprise me, they're designed to be like a £1500 mattress when you run people over now rather than hammering the ding out of the metal bumper when you reverse into a post...
As much as I love Top Gear, and find the guys entertaining, the thought of Jeremy Clarkson's 'Atom' face in the middle of my living room quite frankly frightens me.
Granted, and I'm sure very quickly it can run into megabucks to fix! But to a passing glance it didn't even twig where the damage was, so that's why my suggestion.
I don't know whether it was in it's first year or not, just putting that one on the table as superficially at least it doesn't look like much to sack off a £100k car!
I don't care particularly what the guy 'thinks looks like a write off', the fact is that on an R27 a metal quarter panel, boot lid, bumper, light, wheel, stub, and glass:
a) Isn't £5-6k.
b) Isn't minor rear quarter damage.
As you've said the Mini's worth a fiver and cosmetics rarely write...
I'd normally agree Mr. Munson but i may hazard a guess that as the brake pedal does sweet nothing to the back end, there's very little feel comes back?
Aye, try Citroen. I had my catalytic converter split in two on my old 182 and argued that whilst it might not be warranted for the insides doing their job, the outside should stay shut. Renault agreed and gave me a new one, gratis.
The trouble is, it's a good game with massive online potential, let down by the desire to ruin the lives of American kids because that's what sells the next title in the series. And it's why 'proper' PC games are nowhere to be seen. The one glimmering hope has been diluted with a desire to...
Yeah, sounds about right. I don't know how you do it, but as far as I understand you've got to undo the damage Jailbreaking does, and then do all the jazz.
Sorry I can't be any more use!
Yup, when gaming was about having a laugh with your mates, not about getting that next acheivement in the list. Lock-ins at work, crack the Stella out and the lights down, cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.
