Woke up in a better mood today, and having visited costco for a new socket set set about removing the 'wrong' one.
Needless to say with the correct tools it helps no end. 3 hrs work which was yesterday took 20 mins today.
However, my woes areonly to do with doing a...
No. I gave them the Valeo part # from page 1 of this thread which I found by browsing the valeo website for clio 2, 2l sport, cb0-2. Had options of 110, 95 and 75 A versions in new and refurb so opted for the 110 Refurb. New unit matched exactly the A13VI300 number, the remanufactured one is a...
oh the joys of messing about with a clio....
Collected part, looked ok so got jubilee clip to sort tensioner.
Started removing bumper, which was fine till the bolt on the nearside arch wouldnt play, turns out it had a nyloc nut on it instead of the self tapping clip the other side had - great...
ok, my 'should have listened to Fred' badge is at the ready....
Only upside is car is not my daily runner as I have the bonus of company car so it will be my time and knuckles when/if it does fail early.
Shall be paying you a visit soon Fred for some ds2500 and lines when my bonus is in :)
hmm time will tell - shall hopefully collect it tomorrow !
Interesting thought, refurb ~ £100 lasting 18 month
new closer to £200 but lasting ~ 5 years I guess
It gets better :)
Just rang to order 436748 (refurb) from partco and quoted £84.87 + vat + 50 for exchange with 50 returned when i give em the tatty one back - happy days
true, altho I think the derby branch apply 'club' prices to anyone who walks in the door as they did when I ordered some stuff previously from them.
£130 inc Vat with a poss discount from partco is good,
£160 inc Vat which may inc discount from GSF
both for refurb units on an exchange basis...
It appears the alternator on the Trophy has died and wondering on replacements.
Valeo A13VI300
Renault 8200193100
Renault say this is superseded by 7711134267
Being a T it has air con so seems to be a royal PITA to change !
Any suggestions ?
Ahh i knew i recognised the plate. Saw your mini there and your old Vee as was same place i picked trophy up from :)
He had a nice r26r there too when i had a mooch round
Cracking car
lol order them from a hardware store then - get a bag of 100 washers for 46p from screwfix !
m5 steel washers, m5x10 or m5x14 screws with smallest head possible (personally prefer countersunk)
Deffo save on some cash
oh and absolutely DO NOT USE NYLON OR SPRUNG WASHERS !!!!
just clicked link and...
lol @ 4 quid repair kit.
I may be the 'bloke on here' spiezel was reffering to.
90% of faults on them are dry joints which can be fixed with a decent heat gun and some £3 steel washers and m5 screws.
just the screws / washers MAY fix them but i wouldnt hold breath in long run.
faulty ones can...
I run a nix box which runs centos 5 as a antispam server mainly (+ a few others)
Clamav (and clamd) are installed correctly and currently happily filter out shed loads of incoming virii via postfix / amavisd / clamd.
Freshclam runs multiple times daily and keeps the defs upto date, but the main...
lol it 'comes through' at whatever the max setting allows it to and happily works @ 1080p, not that the 360 was released in sept 2005 either so not sure what a pre 2003 one looks like
hdmi > vga > component > composite
save the composite yellow connector for your 14" portable
vga is good on monitors but at the time of its release (end 2005), virtually all tvs had issues displaying the correct resolution via vga.
component is capable of displaying a 1080p picture, but is the...
glad they give their magazines away then.
strange how the gadget show said a 47 quid gold plated hdmi lead is no better than a 3.99 one as its a digital signal and is either there or not, not like analogue ones which degrade over the transmission path
lol @ # connections, depends what they are limited to, never heard of anyone being capped at an excessive level (2-3 mbit here and there)
Never needed to go beyond 4 connections personally
172 had a 4-1 exhaust manifold giving better torque and a crap cat
182 has a 4-2-1 exhaust giving better bhp top end and a much better 200 cell cat and a twin exhaust
182 ecu map was VERY SLIGHTY more aggressive
182 trophy has an RS inlet manifold which was the best of the bunch, odd 182 and 172...
There is a sensor on the rear axle which detects weight at the rear and boot and adjusts the lights accordingly - possibly indicating a fault there depending if they are changing as a pair or individually.
