A car will not pass an mot if it doesnt have a cat on (even if the emmisions are low - which they would never be low enough without a cat on) all cars made after 1992 have to have a cat on. I want to find a dodgy garage that tests without faffing about with them!
well I havent got it to do it again. Will be in the car all weekend so Ill keep you posted. Problems with the damper tops and relocation of the A/C pipes is apparently whats on the renno ACTIS sytem so anyone with this compliant should get those fixes as a result.
One thing that they have...
End of the day a beefed up clio is better than a max powered rover which is what the rover is. Its a good try to be fair but they are never gonna be respected as much as the renno hatches, and for good reason. The 172 IS a better car.
Im off to get one of those OMP strut braces tomorrow ( As seen in the for sale forum) I.m gonna get it either polished or chome plated before I fit it. Anyone know how much I should be looking at for either? Theres only one place round here I know of that does it so I want to make sure Im not...
I couldnt leave it, not just the fact it might be dangerous, its a top spec car FFS! It should run as smooth as silk with no bangs or anything. Just cos its renno shouldnt mean we have to put up with kit car style faults.

Only open induction kits cause power loss.
Think thats debatable too, my open pipercross causes no bother, not even in the summer.
no m8 this isnt a niggle its a pucker fault. You can feel it through the pedals! Ive just been out in the car for a proper run and havent got it to clunk again so Ill keep an eye on it over the next few days
Yup theyve had it for another 3 days to look at my suspension knock. Its had a new driveshaft (dont think this was the problem) and thay have moved some of the AC pipes away from some of the steering mechanisms. Not had chance to have a proper run in it yet but I was just coming home in it this...
jees we get some easy questions on here!
172 is FAR FAR FAR superior to any rover junk. Although the 160 is one of the better ones they are still not even in the same legue. My best mate bought an MG and is GUTTED he didnt look round for something...erm better.
Over this winter Ive been getting more and more distressed at the state of the engine bay, with the 2.0l lump shoehorned in there you cant really clean the nooks n crannies so Im thinking of having it steam cleaned in spring ready for the show season.
Has anyone had a car steam cleaned...

If your under 21 directline wont touch you. Hell they couldnt even quote me on a VTR!!
try the ring back and speak to someopne else trick m8. Ive been with them since I was 18.
I still pay over a grand for insurance and Im 24...
be reet, I got mine from there as UK ones are like £1k+ more, you could have a clifford fitted for £300 and still have change for fish n chips on the way home!
www.carpeople.co.uk (based just off the M1 in Wakefield west yorks) are doing 53 pre reg 172 at £11,500 (plus DOT reg and Tax so on the road your looking at £11,800 which is the cheapest Ive ever seen them at. Thats got to be bargain of the century for a fully specd 172!
lol my mate said that about my clio "itll get to hot. Where the feck do people get that idea from? incidentally it gets just as hot as my white escort van in the summer lol.
FRS is deffo more desirable, pukker LTD edition, lairy looks and performance etc. I would get one if the insurance was cheaper even though I hate fords. If you kept it long enough it would probably start going up in value.
