If you take your air filter off you can see the two throttle plates. In fact pull the throttle quadrant and youll see first one, then the other open. None of this fly by wire nonsense with a valver!
LOL yeah I got the photo evidence, that harlequin Astra was a shocker. And that metro with viper stripes and some kind of snow plough splitter...on the BACK bumper! Only in Southend...
Raj Im on about 500 miles so far, only 700 to go!
The one on the right is the unsilenced one. The basic rule of exhausts is the more silencing you want the more material you will have around the main pipe. So a straight through will have no silencing at all. Whether you like that sound or not is up to you. A silenced one will still be louder...
LOL Ben yeah but can you beat a Calibra 16v without even getting to the half-throttle stop on the accelerator and changing up every time you get to 4500 revs??? Simon, yeah he only got off the line quicker cos he can dump the clutch and I cant (brand new kevlar clutch as well thats running in!)
Went out round Southend last night to put some miles on the turbo valver and eventually wound up down the seafront doing laps behind a Calibra 16v, seemed slightly modded and it was noisy and seemed pretty quick. Didnt know much about them until I just looked it up, a 150bhp 2.0 16v.
Anyway...
LOL BenR I better get the flags out! For once I entirely agree with everything you said in your post, and you almost took the words out of my mouth. Forget Evo, theyre just a rich boys club who like to call each other by their surnames just like when they were all at Eton together. I emailed...
If you want the best, pay around a ton for Mattig cup mirrors. They do about 5 or 6 different kinds of mirrors that are all top notch and subtly different from the Halfords specials you see around. Cant remember who distributes them, but I got a set and they are the nuts, totally smooth, each...
Well Ill be coming over from Southend, via Chelmsford, Saffron Walden then hit the M11, A14, A1 to Donny. Kev when you going up? R Springthorpe I didnt know you were in Walden as well.
Im doing the same thing with the valver. Putting 172 wheels on it. Pretty sure all original Clios were 36mm offset. So youll need spacers to push the wheels out a bit.
yeah yeah VTR sub 10 second 0-60 my ARSE. When you see what cars can do with proper external timing gear clocking them...Revs 0-60 day a couple of years ago on a dead flat airfield, about 10.5 was the quickest. BTW mine was the quickest valver on 7.7 or something. Loads of supposedly hot hatches...
ring them up, say you want a full refund plus interest for all the time theyve had your money, and you want it immediately. To be honest I wouldnt trust them with a switch card or your account details, ask for cash or a cheque. Say otherwise its the trading standards and the magazines. If the...
The instrument pod wont be cheap. Expensive at Renault hence its a sought after scrapyard part. The gauges do knacker every now and again which is the reason why theyll be pricy!
LOL Slayer, maybe Im a bit keen but at least Ill put my money where my mouth is and if anything beats me then Ill say so, not hide behind a mystery name and not reveal myself...although everyone knows what you drive now anyway. And I wont go around overtaking people who dont even know theyre...
From what Ive seen (and Ive seen a lot of Clios quarter mile) I cant think of any valver without serious mods that will run anything substantially below 16 seconds. 15.8s and 15.9s are even pushing it really. Terminal speeds around75-80mph usually...Aaron are you saying you did a 15.9 @88 mph?
The geezer from last year with the Evo has gone and got something faster or so he reckons on one of the French forums I was checking out! Its a tuned M3 I think.
As far as this supercharged Saxo goes, bring it on! Even if I stalled on the line, Id still have a hundred times more style in a...
Willy box is about the same through the gears except a longer 5th which is to take advantage of the greater torque. A standard-ish 16v just hasnt got the oomph to be able to pull the longer ratio. This is probably the problem. Even on a standard 16v box, I always found it hit a brick wall at...
