Best bet is to forget the AP22 and run at a drag strip with external timing gear. IMHO, and I know there are those who would argue the toss on this one, its a good tool for comparing rough times, but I wouldnt trust it to time 0-60 then say thats my 0-60. A 6.25 is one hell of a time off a Willy...
Take half a second off those times, and theyre all about right. Well apart from the Skyline. Once youre in the 12 second bracket thats a proper fast car and I dont think a standard Skyline is anywhere near that good.
LOL that KTEc one is bloody loud if its the same one Bondy was sporting when we were over in Europe. I mean REALLY loud. Ive just ditched my Magnex for a big bore BB job cos the turbo needs it, but it is pretty good I reckon, sounds alright, not too loud rreally but a bit noisier than a Magnex...
LOL caught you out Slayer - Ive moved out of Essex but your original challenge was any Essex boys except me; well Im no longer from Essex so that means if I cane you, you have got to cough up the subs and put the sticker in the back! How about the Southend meet at the end of the month? Well ave...
electric mirrors, roof and windows standard.leather, metallic and ABS options. Early phase 1 had better seats (IMHO) that were more bucket like but no height or lumbar adjustment. Rattles and squeaks from the cheap plastic trim are a standard feature. Optional is a roof gulley that is designed...
That 240Z is quality motoring. I assume the bottom picture has got a V8 and a roots-blower on it which is a bit much but that black one is mint. And that Lancia looks the nuts in yellow. Its those crazy boxy arches that get me every time. I cant see one of those Deltas without having to stop and...
On the old 16v and Willy, to do the job properly its engine and gearbox out, although it can be bodged by separating them in the engine bay and sliding the clutch in then crossing your fingers.
Yeah I know the others are 4wd, really what I mean is I dont want FWD. I want something with a bit of class -hence any form of Sierra is instantly out of the frame. I dont want a sales reps car. To me a Sapphire is one step up from a Vauxhall Belmont, Cossie or not! Tom is that the 73 Carrera RS...
I got a 35 on the front and 50 on the rears. you can easily see out but you cant; see in unless you really try. I think the 35 is just over the legal limit of what youre allowed but its what youd call medium smoke I suppose. The 20 film which is a light smoke is really hardly worth bothering...
Just an idea Ive got, maybe some time in the future spend between a few grand on a fast classic...must be genuinely fast and a good drive though, and has to be RWD
Porsche 911 (70s) or a 944 S2
Lancia Delta Integrale
Audi Quattro
Or an old Scooby STI import
Get a load of that blue paper towel stuff from a garage, twist it up and soak up all the excess oil out of the plug wells then run it around for a bit. Have another look the next day and see if theyre wet again. As Brun says, there are only two options, one is that you spilt some oil last time...
LOL having it round Swan Meadow car park...quality mate! You ever been for a blast round the back of Little Walden? Theres some single track that stretches from Ickleton to Little Walden thats wicked at night. Not so great in the day cos you cant see the headlights of whats coming!
Well I was worried about long journeys etc when I put my Cobra Suzukas in.They DO take some getting used to at first, getting in and out, getting your nads arranged properly so you dont end up impotent for the rest of your life, etc. But once you have the position and tilt of the seat right...
A slipping clutch is very very obvious - you cant miss it. Ive had a few in my time, including the weekend just gone at the Nurburgring, and whenever you try and put any power into it, the revs will rise but you wont speed up. Almost as if you were revving the car in neutral. Sounds weird, but...
Max POwer dont know f**k all. Its 36mm Brun my old mucker. The newer Clios run 40+ I dont know exactly what but 42 sounds plausible. Best way to check it is take the old factory wheels off and have a look eg. Phase 1 speedlines say ET36.
errr...rear end should be the same, but the link to the cat is probably different. IE dont even think about buying a Williams cat/decat for a valver unless you like cutting, turning and welding the flange at one end.
Yeah I often thought about that, a 19 scoop (the small one not the big one) with a hose leading straight down to the induction. If youre serious about air intake maybe a NACA scoop would be better?
if you dig out the illumination dial on your dash board, you will find an earth voltage and a varying voltage up to 12v when you move the dial (with the lights on). That voltage is the one you want to hook up to any illuminated gauge, so it will turn on and fade with the normal dashboard lights.
Well it is kind of in the second running-in phase now, but the clutch overheated after a quarter of a lap, so from then on it was driving everywhere in 4th gear reall gently.
