Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I remember seeing that thread about the fibreglass copies, looked like a good idea.
I don't think I'd bother with the cup racer ducts, just the fog light removal way.
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Hopefully I'll be able to run it through without too much bother, if not, I'm happy with how it looks anyway :)
Cup Racer ducts would be awesome!
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I'll have a look in the morning and try to work out what's involved. Are yours removed and ducted?
if nothing else, it tidies up the front end a bit at least imo! :approve:
The 15" 2118 seemed lighter than the 16" Turini to me.
I actually expected the 2118's to be heavier than they are, given the comments made about their weight.
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I wasn't going to, but that is a good point actually lol! I have a feeling the carbon canister is going to be sitting in the way of my ducting :dapprove:
I've got a section of nimbus heat shield on the way, so hopefully there will be enough left to knock something up!
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I'll just be using the black flexible ducting type hose, similar to this type of stuff; http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Performance/Brakes/Brake_Ducts_Ducting/Revotec_Flexible_Ducting_Hose/864/3538
It won't be a cone, just attach the ducting to the back of the...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
As I've had the nice surprise of an unexpected week off work, I've had time during the day to get a couple of little jobs done. For a while, I've wanted to remove the fog lights and run ducting to the front wheel arches for the brakes.
I made a start on that...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
From measuring the hoses diameters this is what I ordered;
3x 16-22mm
2x 32-45mm
2x 22-30mm
2x 30-40mm
2x 25-35mm
2x 35-50mm
For the lot is was £13.71 + VAT and delivery, so not too bad at all. The problem I found with most places was that you had...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
While out and about this morning, I decided to take a bit of a de-tour and give the car a bit of a run.
So impressed with the de-cat, I wish I had put one on sooner; the car seems to pull so much easier/better, really feels like a free flowing system now. Also...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I've just completed the fun task of measuring the diameter of the silicone coolant hoses to order the right size hose clips; I was surprised at how quickly the cost of them adds up! :(
I had a number of of mild steel/zinc coated jobbies sitting around, but wanted to...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Well seeing how the Sabelt wheels are now no longer available, I think that's really decided it for me; I'll be going down the 197 wheel route.
Regarding the airbag's from the non-RS models, that was my thinking too. As Renault sell the 197 design wheel as an...
