One thing to check before you make that phone call. Look in your hand manuals and see if it says anywhere that 'you' have to use a leather treatment to keep 'all' leather in good condition. If it does not say this, I should think you are all pretty well covered. Anything is worth trying...
I have read this thread with great interest. I am lucky at the moment as my steering wheel is fine (car is now 3years old and I'm a smoker) but in saying that, it is obvious to me this is clearly a design fault, and as such, the steering wheel is 'not correctly designed for the purpose it was...
So, if someone gets a key to your car, it would have to be aquired via Renault staff member, Is that right?
The reason I ask is; to 'normally' get a spare key for your car, you have to pruduce the correct documents before one will be ordered.
How about getting one of those lockable posts you put infront of your car so they can't get it out of the drive? I know it might be a pain in the butt to go and unlock the darn thing before you can go out, but it may help to act as another deterrent. I am considering this myself too.
Thats absolutely disgusting! It really does make you want to smash the little f**kers faces in!! I know it's basically wrong, but jeeees, no-one deserves that! I seriously hope you find out who did it and for why. Little b******s!
Oh bloody hell, how absolutely gutting! I really do feel sorry for you, and your poor car. The little sods! They really should make it legal to give the buggers a darn good slap if caught, might make them think twice about doing it again. Sadly the little tw*ts will probably get away with it.
It is certainly begining to sound like the 197 isn't quite up to it afterall. I would have expected that after all the media hype it has been given, for it to be something really special, but it certainly doesn't sound like it is. The Megane 225 seems to be gaining alot more interest than the...
Well I would obviously say, stay clear of a main dealer as they will probably cost you the earth. If you have an auto factors near you that can get you parts, I would try there, failing that maybe a trip to your nearest breakers yard maybe an idea, phone them first to see if they have any in and...
Personally speaking I find the advice given by most CS users/members is generally spot on, but in saying that, if you already have the wheels, put them on, see what it looks like, and if indeed it handles like a pig, take the darn things off and consider something else. At the end of the day it...
Main dealers are rip off merchants. Nothing ever costs as much as they say it does. My local garage not only take great pride in what they do, but they look afater you car with great care and charge you the least they can, garages like that are very rare and worth their weight in gold!
Oh I do understand that completely, and personally think they have a darn cheek for asking for so much for them to just look it and an supply the details. It really will only take them a couple of mins to look it up when given all the required information. It is unfortunate that these days most...
The dealer should indeed be able to tell you the code for your stereo. I know I have complained about Wilsons in Epsom, but they not only told me the code for mine, but actually set it all for me, and for FREE!
My car is also an import, which can make it hard for a Renault dealer to trace...
Thats a very lucky Dad you have there, love the colour he's chosen. You'll have to show us some pics when you get the chance to take some. Nice one Chris's Dad! ;) :)
The same thing happened to a friend of mine years ago, he had a VW Camper. Darn thing popped out as he was going up a hill, he was none to chuffed, he bodged it with plumbers tape to get him home. He didn't get it permanently fixed, went out and bought a Honda instead. lol
I decided I would see how far I could go before the my car was 'out of range' of the hand held transmitter. I was absolutey gobsmacked. I was 7 miles away from my car and didn't lose the signal once! How amazing is that!? I gather this means if I am indeed that far from the car and...
I think the fact the 225 megane has kept it sexy looks, but has some serious added bits , has made it a very desirable car. The new Clio however has changed quite drastically, it no longer has the mean looking front end, instead it has an almost smug grin. I can quite honestly see people wanting...
I am now inclined to agree with you there. When the new Clio came out I was seriously in love with it, but I am now finding the more I look at it the less I like it. I do however think the interior is far superior to the older Clios, but that's just my opinion. The newer (non sport) Clio is fast...
I thnk it is often the case (with vandalism) that the little f*****s get bored. It appears alot of youngsters these days are virtually brain dead, they have not got a clue as to how to accupy themselves after they have pulled themselves away from their games consoles, so instead of letting off...
Well I guess that's right too. It seems more cars are stolen in the summer months as well. The little s***s know they aren't going to get wet or cold, so they come out in force. ~Cough cough, scratches head~ "w*****s!"
I had wondered about that too, but as Racing Blue says, there are alot of Clios about now, very popular cars, so I guess it makes sense that they appear to be major targets right now. It is indeed annoying and darn right frustrating not to mention worrying that we Clio drivers have seriously now...
  I just can't believe sooo many people thrash the s**t out of their motors! We have a 13 yr old 1.2 Fidgi for our runaround, but would never dream of ragging the s**t out of her . :nono:
What other things are they? I think we all need to know so we can do the same. I just got a a heavy duty alarm fitted with anti tilt and another immobiliser.....Seriously considering a wheel clamp too .
