I have a Ph2 172 with the standard discs/pads and they're due to be replaced soon as they're getting a little worn and after the track day yesterday, I need to go bigger and better.
Are the 197 or Megane 225 brakes bigger/better?
So what do you recommend?
What do you think? The very much bald one was on the NS but the OS one wasn't too bad.
Oh well, I'm now running Toyo's on the front and Michelin's on the rear... for now :)
A while ago, I bought a 2nd hand Cup/Trophy splitter for my 172. About a month ago, it developed a crack, which must have been the result of coming into contact with a kerb.
I'm now looking at getting a CF one from K-Tec as they look better than the standard Cup ones and are quite a lot...
Hi,
I spotted a silver 172 in Frimley (Surrey) on Tuesday 19th January on the Frimley Road around 6:30pm heading from Camberley.
When they reached the White Hart pub on the roundabout, they turned left towards Frimley Green.
The number plate read X1 5ASH.
Anybody from here?
This evening, I noticed a crack in my front splitter. The splitter's a Cup/Trophy one so not the CF ones from K-Tec. Where the crack is, is NOT where one of the screws are so I was wondering... instead of having to go down the route in buying a new one, could i glue it back together? I know...
Hi,
About two weeks ago, my beesting aerial was pinched from outside my house. With this type of aerial, the actual aerial was taken but the small (grub) screw was still left in the aerial base. Instead of buying a new beesting aerial, I wanted to put the original one back on, which meant...
This morning, I put £20 of Excellium Unleaded (Total petrol station) into the car. As soon as I left the forecourt, the SERV light came on. At first I thought... now what fuel did I just put in, but that was fine. And... my automatic wipers didn't want to work. Hmmm. I put a call in to Dave at...
For those of you who went to the Summer Peformance Car Action Day at Castle Combe on Saturday, you must have seen or at least heard about the Saab catching fire on the track at Tower, which resulted in 20 canisters and about 15 marshalls/staff getting it under control and putting it out...
Hi,
I took a few pics of the ClioSport stand and some Clio's in general...
You can find the rest here...

If you would like any high-res...
Since taking ownership of the car in around May 2007, my windscreen has had the arc scratches caused by the windscreen wipers. Since then, the windscreen has taken a few knocks, chips, etc... and while some have been repaired, I'm thinking of having a new screen fitted. So... I'll be going...
Impressed? Mike and Dave at Rentech were!!! Haha! They said they've never seen a shock do that before!!!
19 of us went over to the 'Ring from 21st-24th August. On the Saturday, I was going round doing my 4th lap when I kind of fcuked up at Adenauer-Forst, which resulted in me hitting the kerb...
A large group of us are off to the 'Ring this time next week and I asked my mate if I could borrow his TomTom. He said it's very tepremental. Anyway, I tested it on the way to work this morning and apart from the battery being flat, which was then half charged by the time I got to work...
Does anybody know how to export emails from Outlook Web Access into Outlook Express?
I can't get Microsoft Outlook to work hence why I'm using Outlook Express.
I'm pretty sure I've put a thread up about this car in the past.
I spotted a Ph2 black 172 outside the North Camp Fish Bar, Peabody Road, Farnborough this evening at 7:50pm with the registration RV02 GHZ.
I didn't pay a lot of attention to it as I didn't want to look like a w*erdo and so...
A few of us went there yesterday. It was a good day and with the suuuper weather, we have all suffered from sunburn ;) Anyway, I took quite a few pics.
Us arriving (From left to right: kevin_172, halfpint, Katie_Trophy...
Pics of the Clio's on the stand...
I "always" see this car on my way to/from work.
It has the two white stripes and it heads towards Farnborough in the mornings so one only assumes he works there?
Who are you!?! Haha!
I can't remember the reg. but as I see him sooo much, I'll remember it for next time :)
We were at the South West Motor Show, Newton Abbot today and I came across a few RS Clio's. Belong to anybody on here?
This is Sean's (Bondian - Sax-p)...
Also came across this Valver...
I spotted a Trophy pull into Kwik-Fit, Farnborough yesterday at 5pm and it was still there this morning. A 5ft 7'ish brunette female got out of it. The registration was BF55 XTS.
Anybody here?
I spotted a male driving a blue 172 Cup on the A329(m) and then on the M4 heading towards Reading at 6pm on Tuesday 19th May. The number plate was HT53 HXO and was in bold italics.
Anybody on here?
I spotted a blue 197 with reg. WU56 GXM back on the 3rd May at 1:30pm on the A3 heading towards Portsmouth. He was racing (like a pr*ck) weaving in and out of the cars along with a grey Civic Type-R.
I probably saw three/four VERY close and STUPID encounters!
On the Thursday night (I think) as I was turning left at the mini roundabout onto the Queens Road and I got a very cheesey grin :p
And... she tooted at me while I was out playing with the car yesterday afternoon on Netley Street :p
I've removed the rear badges from the car and I will be going one of two ways...
1. Leave the rear badges off completely.
2. Put the new Renault Sport badges on the right (below the 'Ring sticker).
I WAS going to buy the new badges and put them on but after finding out they'll cost...
I'm wanting to get a set. Where's the best place..

I spotted you lastnight getting onto the A31 at Farnham and then down onto the A331 (Blackwater Valley) and then slowing riiight down to get off at the North Camp junction.
I was... behind... then infront of you. Your lights were damn bright!
I had some work done on my car with Mike at Rentech yesterday. Part of that work was to have a new battery fitted. Anyway, because of that, the radio's asking for the code. I never checked when I bought the car back in May '07 but it seems it's not with the documentation.
So how do I get it...
Last week, I noticed a tinny sound coming from my exhaust. I went to have it looked at today and it appears that part of the cat has disintegrated and is caught up within the silencer. Anyway, from looking at the exhaust (from the downpipe to the rear), it has seen better days and it looks like...
...hate driving your car when it's dirty but when it's clean, you fall back in love with it? Or... is that just me? Haha! Mine's filthy at the mo... as I bet a lot of others are. At the mo, I just don't want to drive it and don't care how much dirtier it gets. BUT... I'm hoping to give it a bit...
