I asked the same question yesterday too as my driverside one needs replacing and have been offered a ph1 172 item. ​there definitely seems to be a lot of confusion on the driveshafts.

Right peeps, I need a driverside driveshaft as the inner boot is split. Before I go into wanted section and ask for one, does anyone know of a secret place where I can buy one cheaply and am I better to replace the shafts as a pair? Ta very much :)

Cheers. As I said in an earlier post its using your common sense and we sussed it out. All fitted now only one bolt hole slightly out so had to work it with the drill bit to get bolt in but the car feels so much better and gone has that nasty rattling and clonking.

Do I use the original bearing with the ktec kit or does the kit do away with it. Need an answer ASAP please as car is up in the air atm and need it tonight.

​ i have a similar problem and had the usual bits checked over and nothing untoward was found so now i am going to replace the top mounts as it could be these that are causing the knock/clunk. I did a search and it seems to be a common problem so I'm gonna go for solid mounts.
