Food for thought. If its a really good replica then it would look indistinguishable from the 'real thing'. ;)
Only bad point on doing a rep' is the badges. If it aint one, don't badge it as one.
I'd check everything that has been mentioned but i would be tempted to remove front shock to check its not bent.
I would also double check your tyre pressures as this could cause the sensation you describe especially with 17" alloys on a small/light car.
A grey 172, cup spoiler, yellow details (looked gorgeous btw) coming out of Skegness. A bean and a monaco in Burgh-le-marsh. Also a black 'sport' heading towards Skegness with a LY 197 (with grey decals) not far behind.
All of which made me feel guilty as they were so clean looking and mine is...
I have just got myself an RS tuner that i will be unlocking and ordering the 98ron map for my 172. So really pleased to here very positive comments about it from people who have done the same.
What is the best colour primer to use on alloys when changing from silver to anthracite?
It is not the darkest of greys so was thinking of a white primer as a grey primer might dull the final finish.
Interested in peoples thoughts and advice.
I took my Team D's off to give em a clean up before a coat of paint graces them. Was going for an anthracite but not too dark.
I put Nicks old black F1's on for now until i get em done and they are now growing on me.
Mmmmm decisions decisions??
I have done it online for the last few times and also done it for friends too. As long as your MOT and insurance are upto date and it is confirmed when applying that they are your ok for 5 days as stated. Not very often the police look at your tax disc like the old days as its all done through...
Yes. You get 5 days as that's what they allow for posting . once they have checked your details any other checks made against your car will show you have applied online.
The RS1700T is a real rarity. Only ever seen one 'proper' one in the flesh and that was about 20+ yrs ago in a showroom in Skegness. I'm pretty sure its the car Malcolm Wilson has in his private collection now.
Nice to see someone doing something with their fogs. I think they are a waste of time and only ever see them used by chavs (all the time, day or night come rain or shine) and old biddies on a slightly misty morning.
Makes sense to remove them and fit air ducts or something else useful.
I asked a policeman years ago about driving without t n t to get my car t n t'd and he said as long as its been pre-booked in at a test station and i was on my journey there and not 50 miles in the opposite direction it was fine.
But this year i had been driving for a month with no mot. :S I...
Fuel consumption down on trip reading. Down from mid 40's to mid 30's yesterday on run to Norwich.
Also sounds funny as you reach 85/90 mph and feels like its running out of steam. Hard noise to describe but engine seems to go into a low dull tone.
Could it be related?
Ditto. I had a Focus 2.0l ghia and it was well thirsty compared to the 172. I pop down to norwich every few weeks and computer says mid 40's there and back.
The last couple of days my 172 has felt very twitchy and unsafe on the back end.
A quick look revealed that the passenger side rear shocker covered in oil and also noticed damp patches on the drive so a fairly bad leak at that.
A quick ring around sourced a pair of 182 shockers. So a trip out...
