Tbh, i dont bother with changing tyres but on my old works car years ago it had skinny tyres and it was ace.
There should be no problem driving in snow if people drove to the conditions and some, driving so slow ("get a move on Gran, Pop wants his lemsip".) that they hold others up on inclines...
Not tried it but hope its better on wheels than it is on bodywork. I bought some years ago (black) and it left my car all smeary. I had to basically 'cut' it off and re-polish with normal polish. I did think it was just me but i tried several times and just could not get a nice finish.
Best getting a set of steelies with skinny tyres for snow. Cuts through do much better and you find yourself driving around cars with big fat tyres on.
Ok they my not look sexy but better than being stranded.
Look on the inside of the wheels and its normally stamped onto the spokes. Should be something like PCD100 or PCD108 and on another spoke you may have ET35 or similar.
a drying towel is soooo much better than a chamios and drys the whole car and does not need wringing/squeezing out. I have an autoglym blade that i used a few years ago. Good for flat/straight edges but still need to use a chamios or towel. So i would just go for a drying towel.
I've just done that very same job this weekend but use satin black. Got it all back on and then realised i hadnt done the black bit behind the diamond. :(
Think i'll touch it up with a fine brush.
Also fitted my Fabia splitter. I'll have to get a pic up.
Whenever i see anything like this in a car park i wish i had my own clamping company.
On the subject of parking over 2 bays is just plain ignorance and selfish. Yes ok, find a space on the end and park a tad more to the left/right and give yourself a bit of room(i do) but dont take 2 bays. (my...
The diamonds and bullets on my iceberg 172 are sprayed in Ford Thistle Purple and now i've seen this thread i think i might colour code my boot button.
It really makes the rear diamond stand out.
my 172 came with carbon thumb grips and it looks to me as though they replace the old rubber ones.
i would guess that you peel the old ones off and clean the area and they fit on using something like self adesive pads.
Bonnet struts are a bit old skool now so i would assume there are plenty of 'how to fit.......?' guides out there somewhere.
Also aint there some universal kits out there? I would think that boot struts would be too long for the job. You dont really want the struts sitting half way down the...
i had 'show' plates on my Sierra XR4i a few years ago and often forgot to change them back to standard after the show. Even been known to take show plates off and then got chatting and forgot to put any back on. I did get pulled once with my show plates and and told the policeman that i had been...
A mixed drive down to Norwich last week i saw 46.2 in my 172. :approve:
Often see around 32ish tootling around tho and unfortunatley down to 26 at times too.
ahhh, Ford Fair. The one show i used to look forward to more than Christmas. Was always good to see non ford cars blasting around the track or trashing the pants off em up the 0-60 sprint. Got too modern for me and much prefer the Classic Ford show full of mk1&2 escorts, Festa's, Anglebox's and...
whats wrong with it btw? Apart from number plate in a silly place i cant see what everyones going on about? Looks the b@ll@cks to me.
YES I AM BEING SARCASTIC.:rasp:
Just to add to the topic of road kill. I once hit a deer and made a right mess of my escort. (bonnet, grill, bumper, wing, headlight......ect.)
A man and woman came out the house to see what had happened and she says, "shall we call a vet?" to which i replied "not unless you want to pay the...
Eibach pro-line or sport-line. been through this a few times looking to change my Apex as they were very harsh on my minor roads and have just changed to Sport-lines and am very pleased with the ride. Dont get me wrong Apex are fine if your roads are well maintained and smooth tarmac.
Judging by...
Just sent an email to a local shot blaster to find out how much they charge. only a 5 min drive too so easy to pop down and take a look at what they do.
They advertise a whole range of services so my have the right gear to do alloys???
Yesterday i swapped my 172 -40mm Apex springs for Eibach sportlines and it has transformed the car. It doesnt crash and bang if i run over a matchstick and the handling is still as sharp and if anything better on not so smooth bends as it doesnt throw you across the road as the Apex did. They...
