Mine used to idle funny until the cambelt was changed. Fred said the timing was out. Not sure if this world affect idle though?

I can hear a feint tapping noise at idle on my 172 Cup if I'm sat in the car. i would best describe it as tappet noise. It's goes away once the revs rise. Strange thing is if I listen for it with my head in the engine bay I cannot hear it. Anyone got any ideas? i did dip the clutch to see if the...
