As above, what are the correct socket sizes for the big ends and mains on a Ph2 172 F4R? Torx E...?

A simple question, so apart from the above things like manifolds etc, the bare engine is EXACTLY the same as the 172? i.e. would fit in place of a knackered 172 engine, using all the 172 ancillaries/exhaust/manifold/mounts etc?

That was my thinking too regarding if 1 is heavily damaged, chances are the rest wont be far behind so they'd all need doing, and thats assuming the crank isnt goosed :(
Maybe another engine would be the best idea given the time and cost it would take to...
Following on from my knocking engine thread.....
I've now removed the head and found no damage to either valves, piston crowns, cams etc etc, but it would seem the bottom end is shot :(
Cyl 3 which showed a low compression (120psi) is a bit oily (although I did put a little oil down only this...

Got my timing tools from renault today so thought great I can crack on and get the head off......NO!!
Fitted the locking tools after pinning the crank and undid the dephaser pulley, tensioner etc etc. Then went to do the...

Ive removed all the stuff that needs to come off except cam belt. Gonna have to order the tools from renault, unless anyone local wants to lend/rent them to me ;)

Its definately more than a "tick" and is more central on the engine. I'll obviously be checking it though ;)
Ok, simple as that! Is it because they're alot stronger than the generic ones? Needed for undoing the cam pulleys as the others just bend?
