Right if your clutch is dieing you'll rev it in-gear and nothing will happen. Ie you go to pull off a hill give it revs and it revs but doesnt move. Does this happen?
Go back where you got the bearings and ask for the circlips they shud all come with them as I said above, where else would you get a specific bearing circlip??

All bearings should be supplied with circlips so Id take them back where you get them tbh so I was told when I tried to get mine pressed in without circlips! went back to the shop they apologised and said sometimes they forget + leave them out.

Thing is if I paint over it will look even worse cause the last person did such a shabby job!! Its lumpy and all over the place!!
