    New mods added

Good write up. Good place to get the work done too. Had my belts and service done there. Recommendation: - re-map next:cool: Even more low down torque.

cam belt on 53 plate 172

On the receipts I have from Renault there is a note at the top saying: CAMBELTS NEED CHANGING BETWEEN 50,000 to 72,000 MILES or at 5 YEARS. Better to be safe than sorry. If you think, pah 72k and 5yr, and your cambelt snaps at 51k and 4yrs you'd be gutted, and probably end up with a bill for...

Nah, I know that. I was happy to shell out on the mods, they've really improved the enjoyment of ownership and from the outside theyre completely un-noticeable which is nice. The car looks totally standard.

2nd Lincoln meet pics, 25th June.

Some nice pics there Chris. Good turn out and a good night. Nicely arranged Daz. As said in previous post, unfortunate that I had to leave the convoy early, had to get back to finish some work off. Wish I'd been able to see out the last bit of the drive. Count me in on the next one.:D

    5 days of 197 ownership

Lovely car mate.:D Just what I'm after. Local Renault dealer offered me a fantastic deal on a RB 197 Cup. Only pre-requisite for me though is factory fitted air-con. This one was in the showroom, delivery miles, brand new, un-registered, but no air-con:( Then again, he said he'd do me a...

cam belt on 53 plate 172

Anytime after 4yrs or 40k realistically, as they have been know to go around then and people on here have had it happen! Usually 5yr 72k £430 from GDi in cambridge. Includes full cambelt kit/ tensioners etc. £400 is a reasonable guide price though, think Renault dealers are around 700...

2BM is abbreviation for "two bucket method" One bucket with shampoo in, other bucket has clean rinse water. Soak washmitt in shampoo, lather an area of the car, rinse in rinse water [dirt deposits should mainly come of into the rinse water], then lather up again in the clean shampoo bucket...

    172 service

Nope. It is the fuel rail guard. It simply protects the fuel lines which go into the engine.

    172 service

For the oil filter, if you havent already, remove the fuel rail guard. The cast aluminium bit at the front of the engine. Its only a cover and is held on by two bolts. Sparkies, as Gaz said.:)
