Sounds pricey to me
If you have the standard 185/55/15 tyres on your car then yu can get pirellis for around £50 of the internet (brand new)
So thats £100 for both.
Disks and pads are prob around the £50 mark but dont quote me on that, its just a guestimate. So £150 + labour
Surely its only...
Jesus. I wouldnt pay a sum greater than 4 figures for that car let alone £6k.
Personal taste and all that but to me i think id have to be paid to own it regadless of the amount spent on it in the past.
TBH at 17 i think hell be looking at considerbly more than £2k.
I wouldnt waste my money on insurance just to have a car faster than my mates. Get a 1.2/1.4 or something for 12months/2years and then look into getting a faster car.
I shouldnt have said easily had for £2k. There are a few around in that price bracket not loads though granted. I would say that most the pikey owned ones generally are dogs anyway.
I personally dont feel that strongly about it. Just something ive noticed and thought it could be discussed. See...
Agree to an extent although seeing alot of just crashed 1*2 threads as well.
In my opinion mk1 valvers/williams have passed pikey ownership and are now becoming collector/enthusiast items
Good point Ben. A mk1 172 can be easily had for under £2k. With a mk2 coming in at around £2.5k.
Ive noticed alot of non sport mk2's driven by complete tits as well lately though.
Lol This thread was just aimed at Mk2 owners in general whether it be ph1 or ph2.
Middo you little pikey go get some chrome ripspeed wiperz...will looks sick against your yella paint init
I think that could be another thing that made me think about the caliber of people who now own mk2's...I seem to have seen a hell of alot more just crashed threads lately than previous winters.
I personally cant afford a 197 at the min without taking out a loan. My 182 is just comfortable for me running cost wise. I can afford to run it and maintain it well however i think going for a 197 or something of similar cost would be stretching me a little thin.
Hi,
This isnt a personal dig at anyone in particular, ive just noticed alot of threads lately where people seem to be cutting corners and generally saying they cant afford the most basic of basic things for the car even if its safety related.
Are Mk2's now at that price point where pikey like...
Lol First of you need to download the driver for the RS Tuner and install this when windows asks you for driver files...
http://www.fastchip.nl/media/VCI_driver.zip
The you need the rstuner software...
http://www.fastchip.nl/media/rstuner.zip
Just unzip the RStuner.zip file and run RS tuner
I paid £8 for one from Renault. I bought one from somewhere other than Renault before and it was crap...missed half the rear screen due to the curve in it.
Save your time and go straight to renault imo
For me i think it would have to be the cup given the choice of the 2. Although given the full list of 1*2 variants to pick from id choose my 182 with cup suspension every time.
Accelerator cables do snap. Pretty common on cars with a traditional cable setup. At least the new one should make the pedal a little bit more sensative.
Them boys were certainly going at a fare old rate of knots.
The mods on the clio count for s**t really anyway. Be interested to know what the cooper was putting out as usualy a replacement supercharger pulley give 200bhp+ doesn't it?
Lol Dont tell Dave his misery is likely to span over 12 years hell be driving that car of a bridge next time its up and running.
Chin up mate, be worth it once its all up and running again.
