A rather biased opinion but here's the recommendation from a 46 year old 197 owner. Life is short, woefully so. It's better to say I'm glad I did rather than wish I had. I picked up a 57 plate 197 with 12 on the clock for 10.5 and it really is in the mintest condition I can imagine. Shop around.

I know stuff all about cars so I won't argue the merits of power/speed of one over another. However, having seen literally hundreds of BMW mini drivers I have to say that I am glad I don't fall into that dynamic.

You should also find the tweeter cables inside the door panel to the main speakers.

It does, wire the crossovers door side (either inside or outside the card). The speaker cable is still in place which can be amped at the head unit.

Wire the amp to the speaker cables at the head unit. No need to start drilling holes.

If you aren't too fussed about cable quality you could amp it at the head unit end and not have to mess with doors at all.

I think what you are seeing here is some rswipe who is selling an identical item bids yours through the roof to make their own listing more intersting and deprives other interested parties from getting it. They reduce the availability so much that theirs becomes one of the few options available...
