combination that i have bob hope of getting any further warranty work from renault dealer due to my accoustic valve incident plus i love to do stuff myself and im skint atm means ive ordered a set of NGK PFR6E-10 from local motor factors. I correct in thinking they need to be 1.0mm (maybe...
your wrong m8 as I assumed the same thing, look a bit closer at it and you see that its actuated by pressure diff between the pipe which is blocked (fed from the inlet manifold so fred says) and the electrical connection is to a sensor there.
I agree having it removed made no difference to my...
Ok been a slightly bit daft, few weeks ago i took my accoustic valve off on the end of the cold air filter as i was bored one sunday avvo. Blocked pipe with screw as advised via fred
Heard slight roar when thrashing bolox and felt sod all diff tbh but left off.
Had forgot all about it when i...
hmm unfortunately it looks as tho im going to end up out of pocket cos neither paypal or credit car can/are going to do anything :/
Thankfully i shall end up with summert on car thanks to bellautos and pmurray tho
@ fred what what i have been told 172 and earlier have the one on right, 182 have one of left.
@ laingo if poss can you post what marking both ecus have ? s number is stamped somewhere on case and 2x8 numbers on the sticker, is v interesting to see that you seem to have a newer ecu but...
also, im assuming you've had a remap / tweak if you have had it off ? what did you do and how did it go ?
Any chancy of minor oval plate info to compare spec. or any markings on ecu ?
Mine is cb1n k043618
As some of you may be aware, I have been having issues with a group N ecu Im trying to put in my late mk2 172 (CB1N late 04 reg'd motorpoint jobbie)
I have a spare 172 ecu bought from 16vJON on here which to the best of my knowledge is normal for a mk2 (mk1 ecu having 256k flash, mk2 = 512k...
All I can suggest is claiming via Paypal unfortunately saying that goods have not been received. Should be relatively straightforward
look as tho im going to be going thru a lengthy claim with paypal :(
I have just had a very nasty and unhelpful conversation from Henk @ Fastchip based in the Netherlands regarding the Group N ECU he sent me.
As most of you have read in here I had intended to buy a group n ECU from him for my 172 after sending him a spare I bought from 16VJon.
The ECU was...
ok cover really is a bugger to get off, brute force and ignorance required. Messed about and removed battery etc to get at old ecu and swap.
then i found possibly a problem, my ecu's dont look the same...
i swapped anyway and test but car wouldnt start with immo light on red all time on dash...
bit of a delay but finally got ecu back (plus been away on hols)
OMFG how much of a b**ch is the cover to shift !!! gave up in end due to spots of rain and got hassled by window salesman :/
Will try again Sat mornin
hmm looks promising, went to renault yet again for 'discussion' with mechanic about whats fault could be having been told they werent gonna change anything if no fault is seen on ecu, he reckoned on TDC sensor so car is booked in (again) week on wed for it to be changed so fingers crossed.
theres one closer than sandiacre (apols for delay maz as been on hols)
to quote a friend of mine who works : dhl down the road
"I don't know the name and numbers of any B&B's but their are 3or 4 of them,
i know they go upto about £60 pppn when Donnington events are on so
probably a bit cheaper...
Im wondering if some of you chaps can help me.
For nearly a year now I have had intermittant starting problems sometime starting my 172. It can take several attempts to turn over before finally firing and running fine. It followed me putting in some 'suspect' fuel. Ive ran several lots of...
possibly, but i doubt it fully optimises any system as it works with several models and seems a generic cheap n nasty fix, go buy a group n ecu or go get a decent remap done by sum1 like pmurray or bellautos
tbh i imagine its same principle to the airbag sensors where bridging the gap with a resistor of a certain value should sort it. I shall consult dialogys
sounds as tho they aint as reputable as them would have you believe.
as Mrbilluk stated, any pukka group n ecu is virgin when it arrives to you and is paired to your car with the immobiliser data once its connected and powered up.
The only issue is of he has a tuned ecu file from sum1 elses...
from what I have read, if you leave it off ecu really dont like it and goes into limp mode - if you connect it, ecu can see an error but is ok as only slightly out (removed gives a larger error hence limp)
