I would go for a newer one than a 51 plate. I would be amazed if you notice something like a 0.2 sec 0-60 performance difference. Criuse was an option on the later 172's, but you can turn the ESP off with the 2003> like mine. You can get a 2002 Cup from around 5.5k mind.

You would be lucky to get under £3k. Don't bother, I waited till I was 21 to get a 172. Your better off going for a 1.6 16v a saving the money, till you have a few years of driving under your belt.

Get a bike for the summer and keep the car. Your never get close to the sort of performance for such a small amount of money as a bike. You will then realise if a bike is for you after the summer, if not sell up a get a two seater.

Your car sounded pretty good and loud, I normally can't hear anything over the exhaust on the bike. To be honest I thought it went really well. What mods have you done to the engine? I'll keep a eye out for you when I'm in the car too.

Ph1 with carbon style bonnet. I was on the GSXR bike, it was good to see how my bike faired against the 172. I just couldn't get the power down as the roads are like riding on chalk with all the salt on the road.

You need to replace the fan. I had mine replaced under warranty, I'm sure it isn't that hard to do.

It's your climate control fan, between the lights. They are quilt common to fail and become noisey.

You can turn the ESP/TC off and the later 172's anyway. TC doesn't restrict to much away.
