In all honesty, some of the worst work I've seen has been on mechanics own cars, and I think the theory is because they know "that'll do, it won't fall off for catch fire" if you get me? Where as someone who doesn't have extensive knowledge will do it to the letter as they don't know that.
It'll get there mate, I want it done as much as you lol. I'm loving the turbo choice though after driving richy's. Even on gate pressure it felt quick enough for a road car, combined with how it drove, just how you told us you wanted it to ;)
The vin acquisition will have nothing to do with your clip not connecting. You can remove the ecu and still not have problems connecting. It will be your clip.
Yup, the core engine design is to do 180bhp/40mpg. And it does that very well, that's another reason why they do everything so well at 5krpm. The whole engine just isn't designed to do high revs or high power NA.
You've fitted high revving cams. Sadly, that's the problem with them, you have to trade off low end for high end power. Throttle bodies will get you a bit, but that's it.
No, as it won't idle then. The dephaser is a good thing really. The problem really is these engines don't tune well NA. £10k will get you 240bhp, but that's it. 3k for boost and you get the same power and more torque.
