Decided we needed a cheap family car on lease...

Sure most new vans are as refined as cars now, interiors of the news transits and vivaros are really nice with all the mod cons. Plus your higher up than most Range Rover drivers.

Decided we needed a cheap family car on lease...

Well if you want a more constructive comment would of been better off going with a crew cab van. More practical, 6 seats, better handling, higher driving position etc etc.

Decided we needed a cheap family car on lease...

Eh it’s a boring daily doesn’t really warrant its own thread, we already have a lease thread after all.

Should I buy a trophy as an investment?

Realistically your going to have to hold it at least 15-20yrs before prices really start increasing.

Some fine French craftsmanship right there..

    Rear shock lower bolt snapped.

Well this thread is an ordeal.. A drill and some cutting fluid would’ve probably got it out faster by now.

Can a bad fuel filter cause hard warm start?

Unlikely, but you could always check for metal in the filter if the pumps on the way out. Also check the temp sensor for faults.

    Advice on a Drill

Of the two posted I’d go with the Milwaukee as it’s got two battery’s and it’s easier to move around. That said I’ve trashed a cheapo Toolstation own brand drill for the last two years on house refurbs and it refuses to die. Drilled some 22mm holes in tarmac with it the other day no bother...

    Rough idling/juddering mk3

If it’s only happening when your on the clutch then the clutch or flywheel probably needs replacing. If it’s the engine then checking the injectors would by my first port of call if it’s running rough.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Yeah it’s never fun modifying a daily, needing it finished by a Monday. Second engine or pick up a banger to use for a few weeks is the way to go.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

197 internals, catcams and maybe some headwork is my plan. Little bit more power but keeps the stock look to the engine.

    engine building

Seems like a lot of engine work for a daily driver imo. It’s going to be difficult to make something more powerful without sacrificing some of the reliability as a general road car. Have you considered an lsd?

    Headlining Retrim

Since I’ve just removed mine figured you might find this helpful. It’s glued on however if you wait until the roof is hot from the sun it comes off easily.

    advice on scissor lift

If it’s a house you plan to stay in a while then digging a pit so you can stand up would be more useful imo.

    Body Shops North Wales/West

Anyone got one they would recommend near Chester/Wrexham area. Going to be a full respray so happy to spend a decent wedge for a top finish.

    BG Clio 182 - Amos

Tbf the looks like standard Renault wiring almost as bad as how they spliced the alarm system in.

There still around but as above take it to diamond much closer.

    Best mod?

I think the issue is people using them on the road which there not really designed for.

    Brembo caliper colour - BG

Black with silver decals. If you wanted something slightly more interesting I think liquid yellow would work and fit in with renaults f1 colours.

I wonder how much cash they make, I imagine it’s a lot of work for not much.

Technically it’s my dads but we’ve got a trailer mounted one that will do 5-6000psi I think.

    182 manifold

Does seem like a lot of effort, cheaper to just buy and fettle a new one off eBay. Or even cheaper grind out the middle of a couple of nuts and weld them on.

    Is this too far gone

Jack the back of the car up, the abs sensor connections for the rear are both near the flexi brake lines. Might need a friend to help spin the wheels. Rather than typing it out this video covers it.

    Is this too far gone

Cheap reader won’t show up any abs faults. If you have a multimeter you can do a basic check with that.
