Just back from taking it out for a spin..Very impressed..I forgot it removed the 5k 'kick'.Felt strange at first but after a few minutes you notice how much better the car picks up as you go through the gears.The raised rev limit will come in handy on the track too.

I had it standard and yes they are great cars but they can be vastly improved too imo..I have money already put aside for trackdays and repairing the car if needs be. If we all took your advice this site wouldnt exist :)

I emailed henk and he said the rs tuner is set up for 97Ron minimum so i just ordered one and the pure motorsport solid top mount and strut brace kit.Have a load more stuff to order tomorrow :)

Right well bit of an issue with getting myself an RS tuner..As stated above about the e5 petrol we have in Ireland its supposed to be 99 Ron but talking to a few people in the know its reckoned that its more like 97 Ron so probably not the best option :( Will have to do more research into it

Unusual..I had 3 imprezas mapped and a golf gti on e5 and never had issues.was always told to use it by the mappers..Even the maxol website states its 99?

Bit of a thread revival here but say I buy a new RS tuner... I get the 98ron map as standard? Say if I want to buy the over run map just to try it out for a laugh can I then switch back to the first map? So essentially have the option of both maps whenever I want?

I don't know a whole lot about the RS tuner but am I right in saying I could pick one up second hand that has the 98 ron map and just then plug it into my car and away you go? If I was decated and had say an induction kit would that map still apply or is it just for bog standard cars?

Only problem is im in Ireland..There isn't a huge base for tuning them over here.More jap stuff.Im waiting on a call back from a mapper who does mainly VAG stuff but I reckon he might be able to map mine if I do get the cams.Was looking at Renflash from ktec but I was put off that idea.
