Havent updated in a while..Not too much to report other than,
frenchie flag and towing eye :)
And picked these up last night..Primas..
Trial fitment today.Dropping the in to get powder coated in anthracite tomorrow and then some sticky tyres going on for the track :)
Hi Derek its Dec.
Yes they are off the bc's i think..Just google ktec coilovers and you will get pics of the kits broken up to show you exactly what comes with the kit.
had my first trackday experience a few weeks ago and suffered the same results..pleanty of understeer.I would put 90% of it down to my in experience and the other 10 down to me not knowing the optimum damping settings for my coilovers, didnt adjust tyre pressures either.
Was getting about 10...
looking to get my alignment done tomorrow.im running bc coilovers. Was just going to set up factory settings as i wasnt sure what settings. Its my daily with the odd trackday.Would factory set up be a waste?
No mate it was a friend who did the work as a nixser so he hasnt got laser alignment equipment.Id imagine as you say since i changed all the bits that she needs to be re aligned.Just curious to see if lack of alignement can have so much effect on handling.
Got my car back from the garage today after some upgrades.
Ive fitted brand new
BC coilovers
OEM wishbones + balljoints
OEM track rod ends
Was told everything else is spot on.
The steering is still a little all over the place and is pulling to the right.I have two new front tyres on order...
Cheers guys.
@Gareth,
i still have the cup interior and if i was turning it into a track car id be getting proper seats but this interior came up at the right price and i think it looks alot better than the grey cup seats and weigh the same so why not.Im not a fan of the cup seats at all.
Ok havent updated in a while so here goes..
After fitting the interior i picked up a few other bits recently.
OEM balljoints/wishbones
Elf 5w40
Elf 75w80
Dot 4 (used different stuff instead)
Rear exhaust mount
oil filter
air filter
Nkg prf6e-10 plugs
Got all these bits fiitted along with...
Have the ktecs in a few weeks but i want rid as im doing a few track days soon..Didnt buy them with the intention of keeping them.
Ive done a bit of browsing and h&r seem decent without spending over 1k..
Best price ive gotten is 900 pound approx. Is there anywhere that anyone knows of that can...
well i fitted the seats and as expected the airbag/service light came on.im not worried about that but on seeing other threads about seat belt pre tensioners i have just connected up the connecter block with the yellow clip on the side under each seat..Is that all that i need to do from a safety...
Ive heard camskill are good on price for thses pads..Just wondering does anyone know what the part number is for pads for clio 172 cup?
Heres the link but im not sure what i need..

Picked these up last week.
I know changing the interior in a cup isnt to everyones taste but i think the 172 seats are alot nicer and theres is no noticable difference in weight so why not..
Fitted the seats the other day..
Quick pic from cars and coffee yesterday..Plan to...
Im looking to refresh the suspension in the next week or two and i plan to polybush the lot.
I was this kit on ktec racing http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1199&appid=2
Is this pretty much all that would need doing or are there more complete sets available on the market?
Thanks...
No problem at all..when i bought the car i was offered 2 different 00 ph1 that were both rough and price over here is around 2500-3k euros for such examples.
I ended up finding the Cup up in northern Ireland and then had to pay VRT (vehicle registration tax) to register the car in republic of...
I know what you mean mate..I didnt go out specifically looking for a Cup.Just happend to find one at a great price..There litterally 2-3 clio 172/182 for sale over here at any one time..Hardly ever see them on the road. They are starting to get more popular though
We dont really get a Summer here in Ireland mate :)
Plus i bought the Cup as i got it cheaper than any other 00-01 ph1 172 for sale in Ireland..They are few and far between over here mate so the seats didnt bother me but ive now picked up 172 seats cheap and IMO they look nicer so why not..
