    172 (Mk 2 Ph 1) Side strips

Ok so thats not too bad then. Where did you buy them from? I think i would get it done by a garage anyway because i wouldn't want to damage the paintwork.

Looking to get a phase 1 172 but dont like the dirty plastic side strips, they look w**k. Anyone know how easy it is to get hold of and put on, phase 2 colour coded bump strips? What sort of cost am i looking at? Cheers :D

I live in Essex. I have seen that GDI are in Cambridgshire which isn't too far away. Where abouts are Rentech based? Do they use decent parts in the services?

    172 vs Cup

Being the person who actually posted this thread knowing full well that it would start many disagreements, i thought i would just add that i only posted it as i am looking to purchase either a 172 or a 172 cup and wanted some ideas and advice as to what people thought of the two cars. Best that...

    172 vs Cup

According to the specifications, the ph1 172 was 1035kg and then ph 2 1090kg, compared to the Cups 1021kg. Same engine in the phase 1 with all the extras and only 14kg heavier than the cup. Therefore there cant be much difference between the ph 1 and Cup apart from the suspension and handling...

    172 vs Cup

Yeah i have to agree they do look better. Are the seats more/less comfortable? Not bothered about the lack of air con as dont really need it in this country anyway.

    172 vs Cup

I know this subject is much debated on the site but im hoping for non-biased opinions based on peoples experiences. It will help me alot as im looking to buy a 172. Has anyone driven both a 172 and a Cup and is prepared to give an sensible opinion? Are the differences noticeable? Thanks and i...

    Sorry another new person!

Looks like im set for a decent ph-1 in black then. My mate has a 172 ph-2, i was very suprised at the performance to be honest. He raced another friend of mine in an R32 Golf off the lights and the Golf only got the better of him above 80mph. Also think that even though everyone seems to think...

    Sorry another new person!

Thanks for your opinions. I would have to agree that it would be better to get a decent earlier one than a bad older. Are there any differences at all in toys or spec apart from the body? I know the interior colours are different is there anything else?
