    Read this on another forum...

Not only do i know who posted it, but i know who she is referring to who "had a dig". It was me! She got very upset, but then, if someone wants to try and take the mick, like she did with me, then she really ought to be able to take it when someone winds her up. It was nothing personal...

    Bleuflame exhaust - my thoughts

Just had my Blueflame 182 exhaust fitted today by the very guys themselves. Took them around 2 hours from me going in, to me leaving, and the service was professional  Pictures - search the forums if you want to see them - if you REALLY want to see pics of mine then I will take some...

    Evo's 197 review

Most manufacturers idea of a hot hatch nowadays, is to make them safe, weigh loads (anything that weighs more than 1200 kg could hardly be called a hot hatch IMO), put loads of toys and refinement in, and stick a bland turbocharged engine in. So what if they are quick, hot hatches arent about...

    Evo's 197 review

In which case, the hot hatch is dead.

    My 197 test drive...

Sounds like they've turned it into a Civic Type R, except without the VTEC kick, and the reliability.

    Show me your ....

Totally agree here... I used to go for aftermarket headunits, but in the end, i found them more hassle than they were worth, carrying the face plate around everywhere, and I just like the way the standard unit blends in perfectly with the rest of the dash. When I had a Fabia vRS I did have a...

    Fix it again tomorrow.

    honestly.....

And of course, a 1.2 clio is just so much more desirable isnt it? As for the 1.6 versus the 1.2 sporting, they may have had an extra 4 bhp, but i'm pretty sure a 1.6 lump is a fair bit heavier than a 1.2 :D

    honestly.....

What an absolute pile of crap.

    honestly.....

Punto Sporting Mk1 came in two versions... the first was a 1.6 8v engine with around 90 bhp the later was a 1.2 (1242 cc) 16v engine with 86 bhp. The latter was what I drove. I thought its handling wasnt too bad, and it was a very revvy little thing, sounded good too. Pretty reasonable torque...

    honestly.....

I've driven a Punto Sporting Mk1, and they're a lot more fun than a Clio 1.2 thats for sure.

    Supercharged or Turbo 197

Clio 197 = big step up in safety, refinement and build quality. Big step back in driving fun. Typical modern car then. I'll be hanging on to my 182 for some time I think. And even if I did swap for something else, it wont be another "hot hatch" as they are pretty much dead now.

    Does a 172...

 Hmmmmmmm I've driven a Honda CTR. Big deal... its no more aggressive than the Clio when it comes on cam.

    197 test drive tomorrow

I'm not surprised by any of these comments. I wont be chopping in my 182 for one of these, anytime ever, unless of course they bring out a cup version, which will have to be FAR better. Then again, i wouldnt chop my 182 in for a Megane either, despite nearly everyone here wanking themselves...

    my 197 test drive

Good review - but what of the handling, what did you think of that. I always felt that the one thing the 182 could have done with is a 6-speed box.... as there are times when, particularly at around 50-70 mph in the 182 when you are sort of caught between gears... you have to be going 65 in...

    Still confused 182 suspension fitment!!!!!

So basically, is there any point at all in trying to better a non cup pack 182 suspension if all it is, is a bodge job? Trust me to end buying the most none upgradable RS of all.

    Clio RSI/Pug 106 GTI/Saxo VTR?

One of my mates has got a VTR and its a fair bit off the pace of a GTI / VTS. Think the VTR hits a ton in something like 28 seconds? The GTI / VTS is more like low 20's. I'd go for the 106 out of those. After driving the VTR I can relate to the "go-kart with a roof" sensation it has, nice and...

Why Does Everyone **** Off Modified Cars?

Depends on the car for me, when I had my Fabia vRS I didnt think it was good enough as standard, and wanted to mod it, but in the end, I am not a modder, and I ended up selling it and buying cars which I thought were more up to the job as standard. I think I am more of a purist than anything...

4car review of the Clio 197

Not sure if this is a repost, its possible... if so my apologies. http://www.channel4.com/4car/feature/feature.jsp?id=2074 Quite a disappointing write up, criticising steering, lofty driving position, gutless engine, and lack of character and sparkle compared to the old car.

    Thumb Grips under warranty?

Mines started to split already - just 13,500 miles on the clock. Its not too bad at the moment so i'll leave it until it gets a bit worse... in fact until i read this thread, i thought it must have been something i'd done.

    182 vtec!!!

Fair enough, but the outcome is pretty similar anyway. The 150 kg lighter weight goes a long way to help the clios cause.... FWIW i found the honda engine pretty soul-less despite its rev happy nature - and that goes for the rest of the car too... but each to their own ;)

    182 vtec!!!

What is "vastly superior" about it?

    172 vs Cup

The best way mate, seriously. Drive em yourself, make your own mind up. It really is THE ONLY WAY! If I believed everyone on this forum, then the Type R Honda was MUCH faster than the Clio and MUCH better handling - but its not so IMO. Let us know what you go for. We are not all speed...

    172 vs Cup

They are all good. Theres virtually nothing in it on the road. The Cup is more focused, no denying it. But no way will a cup destroy a normal one... You need 300 bhp+ to "destroy" a Clio. The only car that destroyed me so far was a 450 bhp TVR which overtook me up a hill on a B-road...

    182 vtec!!!

I disagree. Theres hardly any difference IMO between the Civic and Clio in performance. As for the integra, again, theres not a particularly big difference and the Clio is faster than some of the Integra R's...

    182 vtec!!!

I admire the Honda engine for what it does / is... i.e. an engine with 100 bhp per litre and that can rev to 8000 rpm... However, after having drove one the other day, I am left cold. I am not really sure it sounds as nice as I thought it would, not really better than the Clio for me, and the...
