is the passenger seat not the same?
i'd take a bolt off the passenger seat, make sure it fits the driver's, and take that bolt with me to a scrap yard to be sure i got the same from another Clio. they're probably the same across the range, so model might not matter
i took the dash top off to do mine (easy job). the grilles don't actually line up with the speaker basket underneath, which is pretty useless really. you can probably get them in without removing dash, but risk damaging them imo
it's just the little symbols i wasn't sure about - the red ones look like front camber though. looks as though you've got 'too much' negative camber. half a degree's not much though, and they're very similar side-to-side. personally, i'd not worry about it - a little more neg. camb. than std's...
that's difficult to read, but have you got too little front camber? (ed. re-read and can see it's the camber you've mentioned)
unless the Trophy's different to the rest, you can only adjust front toe on these. you can buy special camber bolts for the front though, which will allow for adjustment
it's difficult without looking/listening to it but, if it's coming from the cabin, it could be the wheel/column catching on something as Jon suggests (does adjusting the wheel's height make any difference?). there are also bearings in the column tube, and a universal joint on the end of it...
not familiar with the 1.4, but the RS suffer from the selector shaft and the n/s driveshaft. i'd identify the oil 100% first - gear oil's thinner and smells much worse than engine oil
bit presumptive/patronising in my last post, apols. is it gear oil or engine oil? (i know you've said you've eliminated g/oil due to where it's coming from, but are you 100%?)
that sounds like a fair bit of oil - should imagine it'd be easy to spot where that's coming from (sorry, but it's often easiest just to get dirty and scrabble around underneath to find stuff like this)
apart from the standard 12k/2yr service (oil, filter, air filter, pollen filter, inspection service), the rest is:
2yr - key fob batteries (i'd not bother unless they show signs)
36k/5yr - AUX belt
72k/4yr - brake fluid, coolant
72k/5yr - plugs, cambelt
144k - fuel filter
*think* that's about...
sounds like the back box hanger. you could cut the rubber out and somehow fix a conventional hanger into the alloy frame, but it's probably easier just to fit a complete mount - they're about £20 from Renault, may be half that for a pattern part. lots of people pack the mount with hose/tube to...
was wondering if it might be possible to check with Renault to see if they've changed the belt. guess you'd need the service book to see where its been looked after. bargaining point if he's unsure himself, anyway. defo safest to assume it hasn't been done if you can't find proof
is it a Renault s/history?
clutch bite's typically quite high i think
hill in high gear/low revs should highlight clutch slip - although he's said it's mainly m/way miles, so you'd hope it's OK
test drive mainly depends upon what you both feel comfortable with imo - it's a bit awkward testing...
ideally would want to have driven others to be able to compare but, just thinking quickly, going to suggest things like the gearbox (need to give it a hard time to see how it copes - significant crunching when changing from 2nd to 3rd at high revs is a common problem for example), check what you...
that's what i was wondering about - presumably the ABS deals with the brake force distribution? (know nowt about ABS)
to the OP, if it's really that marked, i'd take it to someone who knows the car so that they can have a drive and make some suggestions. it's going to be something to do with...
