Is it ok to have the drop links as shown? If the plate of the bracket is at the bottom of the 18mm shock bolt or should it be at the top? Any difference apart from it hanging lower?

I know it should be easy but I tried doing a coolant change yesterday and thought I did it ok but only put 2 litres of coolant in and it's still at correct level on header tank. More than 2 litres came out of top rad hose so does anyone have a decent guide on how to do a coolant change on the...
