Mine was exactly the same. Just had my car up on the ramps yesterday whilst changing the auxy belts. All of the suspension seemed fine but I lubricated all of the bushes and joints and noise has now gone. i think it's creaking bushes when they get a good soaking then dry out. Bit of wd40 on all...
I just did the auxy belt and pulley change today, me and an experienced mechanic, probably took around 2.5hours. Imagine alternator would be fairly quick using the jubilee clip method.
is there anyone who can supply me with a set of front DS2500's for a Clio Sport 182, 54 plate, the 565h ones, not the cheaper ones, at a reasonable price in a fairly quick time?
Cheers
Ok, so if I hold the cruise control switch in place i get the dash light and can adjust it. If i then let go of the switch it cancels, making me think it's possibly a switch causing the problem. I removed the clutch switch and checked it with a meter and got a definite switching. I removed the...
Only just been pottering around the doors for a couple hours but the PS3's are quite impressive. I'll update once i've done a couple hundred miles. Toyo T1R's I had fitted to a car never gave me confidence, felt as if the sidewalls were too soft.
I ordered some PE2's off the internet, mytyres.co.uk, and gave all my details, including credit card info etc. I was away in USA all last week so expected the tyres to be here once I got home, ready for fitting. Imagine my surprise when I got home to find they weren't here. I checked my junk...
Most of the people I know who run evo's use XP8's or 10's, some even going to the 12's. Far superior to the ferodo range from what we found, but each to their own. I am tempted to even just try the DS2500's myself first with a new set of discs. Get a comparison.
5k kick? PMSL. Driving this Clio for me is like driving a school bus after my last car! Get yourself a cheap Mitsi Evo III or IV for 5k kicks! LOL I'd love a tc'd Clio tho. bet that would feel fun.
Ok, so I just bought a 54 plate Clio sport with 49k on the clock. I'm going to change the Auxy belts/pulleys tomorrow as the cambelt and head gasket were changed last year and the previous owner didn't have all of the belts done at the same time. wtf?
Anyway, the brake pads have all been changed...
Okay guys, I know someone who will make me some brake pads for the clio sport 182, but he can't supply the actual backing plates to fit the new material to. I'm looking for someone who would be prepared to send me some (or I can pick up if close enough) old front brake pads for a Clio Sport 182...
Great vid, just what I like to see, as I live close to cadwell and have driven a few laps there in my old evo vi. Now that I have a clio sport, I can't wait to take it there. It's a great track and even amatuers enjoy it. I was a total newbie there and had some amazing track days there. What...
In a word? Misalignment! Cause? Worn pulleys, incorrect alignment, mechanical intervention, loose belt.? Well done in spotting it and not running the engine.
Most warranties aren't worth the paper their written on. The warranty company who underwirtes it doesn't want to pay out if they can help it. I'd be surprised if you get any satisfaction from the garage. Its only honest dealers who will see you right. Not many of those about these days...
Remember the race teams dont exactly potter to the shops and back in their cars. LOL. I'm only going from what the guy who makes these pads told me. I'm no expert. :)
I have to be honest that with a clio, I couldn't say, but I know from experience on other cars, wide spacers can add extra stress onto the hubs and throw the geometry out. If you have bolt on spacers you shouldn't need extra length bolts.
25mm spacers? What the hell for? If you really want to do this, you'll need much longer wheel bolts and also remember that the stresses on the hub etc will increase. Might not be significant but you'll probably need a suspension geometry check afterwards. I reckon 10mm is as much as you want to go.
carbotech xp8's/10's do require bedding in, ask Ian (tyrant on MLR) who supplies the carbotech brakes. Non hi performance compound brakes may not need bedding in. Standard brake material is usually good after 50-100 miles standard use.
oh well, either a blockage somewhere (internal hose failure as mentioned) or head gasket then. I just can't see it being anything else. Good luck on your quest.
was gonna say 500ml sounds like a real small amount. 1ltr or so is the norm on most cars. If you can find it, go for the Project Mu Gfour 355 fluid. It's very very good stuff and even if you order it in from abroad, it is the best i've found so far on track days. I never once managed to get it...
You flushed radiator from top to bottom? the water would find it's own way out. It might be worth getting the radiator recored if it's cheaper than a new one. Or is there a larger alternative that would fit? As I said before, i'm really not up to speed on the Clio yet, having only owned mine for...
If you boil the fluid, once it cools it shouldn't be too bad again. Bit like when your brakes go off on a track day, no pedal pressure at all and very unnerving, but give them time to cool and pedal feel comes back. The problem with brake fluid is that it is very hygroscopic(think thats the...
I just went out and started the car. I was revving it and it seems to clunk underneath when I lift off the throttle. It's as if it's popping/banging thru the exhaust or something knocking, but as the car warmed up the noise stopped. Does the 182 exhaust do this? Anyone had this before?
Just re-read the thread and if it turns out to be a fuelling problem, it'll be running exceptionally lean and you'll be lucky to not have damage to the pistons.
Thinking logically about this, you say the temp stays steady if you dont drive the car hard but then, if you open it up, the temp shoots up? If you then slow back down and take it easy then the temp drops back to normal. If that is the case, then i'd say one of two things is the probem. There is...
