Well i had to grind a slight amount off to get them to fit with the shims, but had no issues so far, but not impressed by the stopping power of a standard clio brake setup and DS2500's. Might need to go bigger! ;)
I reckon it is just the automatic choke then. I didnt realise it had one, having fuel injection, but to be honest, i dont use the car much and dont have a great deal of interest in it.
Mine has always done it. I'd suggest disconnecting battery for 5 mins then reconnecting to see if it makes any difference. Only other thing i can think of is if there is a gap somewhere throwing the o2 readings out when eng is cold, but once up to temp, the gap is taken up with the the...
Is there a rev limiter or a fuel restriction on the 182 sport when the engine is below normal temp? The reason i mention is because mine is as described above, i have replaced plugs, leads, coilpack, tried different fuels etc, but have come to the conclusion its to do with the ecu map, temp...
Re: 182 track weapon attempt
Just ignore the naysayers. Do wot u like to the car, and enjoy it. I converted the wifes old fiesta for a track day bit of fun. Stripped it out, coilovers, uprated brakes etc. It might not look pretty but it goes ok. I can pretty much drive it to its limits now and...
try just opening your window when you next hear it, and angling the wing mirror in just slightly and see if the noise goes away. Mine is so annoying i often drive with the wing mirrors pulled in!
before you spend any money on it, jack it up and spray the front rubber bushes with some wd40 or release oil type stuff, lubricating them all, ie rollbar bushes etc. then give it a drive. The bushes age and once dry, creak when going slowly, over small bumps etc, but once on the road and up to...
I'm gonna have a look at TDC sensor today. then look at changing leads tomoro, then plugs, and work thru things to see if I can identify the problem. I'll post up results.
TDC sensor or coil pack. Coil pack is £25 off ebay and 5 minutes to change and would rule that out. Known to cause problems. TDC sensor is fairly easily cleaned.
coil pack! Just changed mine and problem has gone away. 5 minute job to change. Now its just started misfiring intermittently, thinking poss plugs need a change now.
they are supposed to run on 98 octane fuels. My alternator recently packed up. When I bought the car I suspected it might be on it's way out due to a slight burning electrical smell near the alternator after driving it a few miles. It eventually just packed up. The idle was really lumpy...
I was just wondering if there was something up with this 182 sport. To me it feels like it's holding back. Mind you my last car was a 350bhp evo VI but even so, I have a vectra 1.9 diesel which wipes the floor with the Clio.
I would just like to see how someone elses car compares to mine...
I'm looking for someone with a 182 near to where i live, who would be prepared to take me for a quick run in their car. Just a few minutes, so i can compare it to mine. I'm not convinced it's running correctly but a mate seems to think it won't be any quicker than it is.
I'd just like to know...
I was awake in the night thinking it could be burnt out wiring under the dash or something. Anyway, anyone know where to get an alternator quick, and reasonably cheaply?
So, had a look at the car this morning, alternator not providing any charge to the battery. Alternator smells! So new alternator required. No idea where i'm going to get one of those in a hurry, or how i'll manage to fit it. :-(
As the title states, this happened today. Earlier in the day I had the emmisions light come on, which cleared when I pulled over and waited 30 seconds, then not long after I got the brakes and STOP light come on. This cleared and then later in the day on another run out, I had a momentary...
before spending a fortune on parts, get a can of WD40 and spray your anti roll bar bushes. My car was squeaking on pulling away at lower speeds, was just the dry rubbers on the front suspension. Silent now and will be changing them all soon when time allows.
PS3's are fine! Had some fitted to mine recently, got the wife to use the car for a week or so whilst I was away, just so the tyres got a bit of gentle use to run in. I've used the car a couple of times now and have to say i'm quite impressed with the handling (standard suspension on a 182...
fitting mine today, along with DS2500's to try them out. If your front pads cost £20, that's exactly what you'll be getting. A set of £20 pads! I've never found decent pads for less than about £100/set. My previous car was £150 for discs and £180 for pads for fronts. If you Drive Miss Daisy then...
Just had 2 PS3's fitted to front of my car, ordered through local independant tyre fitting place, £106 each, fitted and balanced. Seem like decent enough tyres, but since I had them fitted, the wife has stolen the car, won't give me the keys back and says she enjoys driving it and I can't have...
