Ok thanks,
Is it possible to check if you have a good or bad cast inlet? removing from engine and measuring? What size should it be? Inlet to engine is easy, but inlet to plenum?
BTW this week I cleaned my throttle valve (electronic throttle valve) and saw the inlet to the plenum isn't that...
Little bump since it is friday, might have some spare time this weekend.
Are there easy things to check before I take it to the garage? With a little how-to-DIY ofcourse.
I think the heater just shuts down when the rpm is too low. Current from the alternator will change, and that's probably the cause of the heater.
I have read about the throttle body being faulty with clio 1.2 (causing similar problems), anyone has problems with their 172?
Could it be a...
The problem got worse,
This morning going to work the engine went down in rpm and then stalled. This happened only one in a 15min drive (about 10 traficlights) (de-mister also cutting out) On the way back home it also stalled once.
Problem didn't solve putting the sidelights back (didn't...
May I ask about the welded exhaust manifold why there are two exit flanges? one for the turbo? one for the exhaustpipe? or will the two flanges be connected again?
Love to learn from people :D
Probably easier to point to the search but hey.
Basicly the valve shuts at certain revs, so removing it is giving the engine more air. Some people tell they have lost torque and some tell they gained :D (but up till now I found no RR or what so ever :D )
It basicly adds noise.
It's the...
I had that problem half a year ago. Needed to buy a need base too. The rubber is not delivered as a single part. The receiver GPS is fitted inside the base, so that why it is diffent to clio's without sat nav.
I am sorry to tell that via renault there is no other way then to buy a complete...
Good morning to all!
This morning I found I have a little problem with my demister.
When driving up to the trafficlights and I engage the clutch, my car doesn't seem to pick up the revs on idle. It sinks unders 750rpm and then comes up, settling itself around 850rpm.
Normally I don't...
I had my CAM belt changed at the same time as my AUX belt. @ 60.000km (36.000m). as it wasn't that much more expensive and else it needed replacement a year after.
Better take care of your car if you love it ;)
Money_beast 182 I hope you don't mind me using your thread :)
Using ET 30 on a 172 ph 2 FF is out of the question I guess????
Will be using 195/50R15 as winter tyres...
Mine will drive on flat roads on idle, but will be kangarooooing like a b*****d. Still can drive on idle upto 3th gear for sure.
Anything I can do to get a better idle??
@CupWhite,
as Laingo said with this package you can update the standard ecu with group.n parameters/software. You can also check some more information and test a few electric items, like the fan and shiftgear light (if you have one)
As I understand from Greeny 172, Henk (Fastchip)will send...
Two weeks ago I went to Henk from Fastchip to get my ecu fitted with GROUP.N software. He showed me the kit he is selling as RSTuner kit.
It realy is an remarkable kit. Content alread shown above. It can read out temparutes / lambda readings and probably alot more. He also told me he could...
I don't know Duxback windscreen treatment, but I have tried rain-x a few times. It really works well for some situations.
- Driving 30+mph the rain just flies off. Lower speeds work when it has just been applied to the windscreen.
- Basicly for driving on highway or faster roads it's ok.
-...
Drilling you airbox is not the best thing to do.
1. It f*cks up your airbox
2. You suck in hot air
Better option is to disconnect any feeds to you airbox. Yes it will suck hot air, but you still have a good airbox.
Ow and swapping the airfilter in my 172 didn't make any difference in...
7 172s in Holland that's nice, my car should be worth double then, because they are rare. Any way, I think there are a few hundreds of 172 / 182 in the Netherlands.
The road overthere look really great, in Holland we don't really have roads like that.
Mechanic: There is no space for a turbo, inside the motor compartment.
Client: No space for a turbo you say? Just bolt it onto the side, that's ok.
Any way, I bet that goes!
Yeah I know the megane wheel won't fit my clio. Picture was just to show difference in colour on a black car.
So basicly I'm looking for 182 wheels in silver :)
Hello guys!
Is it possible to get 16" clio 182 alloys directly from Renault in the same colour as the 17" version on the Megane 225? If so anyone has a renault part number for me?
16" clio 182 version
17" megane 225 version
I really like the silver colour of the alloys with my black...
I think I have a similar sound.
Started when I got my air-con repaired (pumped died - also noise related) They also fitted a new aux-belt. The sound started with low volume and is only noticeable at low revs < 3000 rpm. Now after 10000km the sound has increase and is noticeable incar. (I was...
Fitting a pipe does decrease volume.
Past week I have been driving with a std. Airbox with disconnected CAF (accoustic valve) and the sound/noise was pretty insane. Incar sound on the highway was too much for me when accelerating at 100km/h and upwards.
Last weekend I removed the CAF...
Drilling isn't worth it.
Just pull out the upper CAF (with the accoustic valve in it) Just loosen it from the air box and leave it. You will suck in hot air, but the sound will be the same as a drilled box.
Tried it myself, the sound is amazing. On a 172 it is anyway.
GRIS Boreal I think it's called in Holland, colour code I don't know. You could call the dealer, there were not alot silver colours available from renault on the clio.
Don't hang me when the colour is different :)
One of the welds of my manifold on the engine-side came loose. Did not smell any fumes inside the car.
Started with my engine idleling / idling badly, and a raspy sound, at that point there was a little crack in the weld of the manifold. Kept on driving till one of the pipes came loose. (as I...
It's a shame I can't edit my previous post anymore, so have to reply to my own post.
My MS paint skills are very very good as you can see! (I bet an 4 year old can do better)
On the left you see my intention. Feeding the filter from the inside-out. On the right, you see the most usual...
