just a quickie. the 40 section of the tyre size is the percentage of the total width. as in with 205/40 the side wall is 40% of the 205? Therefore, 195/40 would have smaller sidewalls?

reset the trip and see what it gets on a run. Sometimes the trip aint been reset since it left the factory so it has stood running for a while so the average fuel consumption has dropped
just the rust side of things that puts me off. if the car aint been completely rebuilt/sprayed and treated its gonna rust to bits. then again a fwe valvers Ive seen lately aint exactly perfect.
2ltr Turbo si the one to go for but traction is a nightmare and they don not handle with the heavey...

if ti is over one year old you are gonna find it fecking hard to return it. Rejecting cars HAS to be done within the 1st 12months (i think). Ring the finance company the car is through and get them to fight your corner.
If all else fails ring the local newspaper, and tell them you are ringing...
someone having a go cos it was kitted? Looks ok imho. Seen a few carzone kitted ones and I think it looks better in that colour than the ones I have seen. Fair play to the lad for making his car stand out. Not all of us can afford to insure 172s.

Its the same car, well new version, as the Mirra. They are fookin rapid but very hard to get hold of! A new one when I looked 2 years back was gonna set me back nearly 15K and yet second hand they were about 7K after 2 years!

thats why i boughty my detector. i went 7 years with a clen liscence to be caught at 95mph on a dual carriageway :(. Bought a little known Roadie eu550 from a local cash and carry and it works perfectly. Cost me £120 and has saved me at least 10 times now. Worth ever penny. They do piss you off...
might not fit other models cos the bumper is a different size on the 172/cup to the "lesser" models. Mind you, a Seat Toldedo has a different front end to a Clio and i still made its splitter fit ;)

Corsas are fair game for the 1.2 16v. Quite enjoyed murdering a 1.2 sri the other day. Quite amazed how much I was able to win by. Only problem is those pesky 1.4 16V ones are! current tally is 12 to them and 8 to me!
there is a Dci in Sunderland near me and he has lowered his car 35mm. He has been warned that any lower and he will be going through drive shafts at a rate of knots.
His does look lower than mine at the front, but then again, he does have a diesel lump under the hood which aint light.
