32-bit Vista will generally see 3.5GB of RAM tops, this is a limitaiton of 32-bit operating systems. Personally I use 3.5GB in Vista 32-bit, as the 64-bit version is known for much patchier driver releases and gaming performance isn't up to par.

Ouch you bought DDR3? Must have a loose wallet considering it's 5x the price of DDR2 with barely any benefits. :p To be fair though at work we deal with XP machines that go tits-up all the time, I deal with them a few times a weekl, it's deifnately not Vista-specific! :)

Greeny I think your problems are pointing towarda serious system instability... either drivers or hardware. What are your full specs?

Surely that is then mechanical failure, and not due to the non-cupped 182 being "rubbish"?

So you were just cruising around a slow bend at 85 bend and it just "went"? I'm just not sure how it could do that without some sort of user intervention or mechanical fault.

I take it that you were flying around said bend at breakneck speed? Cars with handline like even a standard Clio 182 don't just don't "go" like that unless you are really pushing it.

Well another bit of good news... my dad being the amazing chap he is has out of the blue offered to pay a grand towards the new car (I did protest but he was having none of it, trust me) as it's my first "proper" car and he's happy for me... meaning that i'm effectively getting it for a grand...

Unfortunately half of the people complaining about Vista will give you this same answer. They don't know why they don't like it, they just do. Personally I think it's due to what I said before... you get use to things being done a certain way, and when it changes and you can't understand why...
