However to anyone who does need ot buy a new PSU I can't reccommend any higher than this for the price/performance... the very highly rated Corsair HX520 with slim modular cabling http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=446788
Alternatively if you're on a real budget, th...
I said "around" 195bhp, which is what many tuning sites quote their remaps as when the job is done. Example here http://www.k-tecracing.com/chip_tuning.asp
I think i'm going to get me on eof these... half the price of a professional remap, and can't be TOO far off in terms of the effect.
Will this using this basically take you to around 195bhp?
I was with 3 for a year and recently switched to O2... customer service has been fine so far, with the added bonus that the call centres are all UK-based and not in New Dheli. The 3 customer service agents made me want to throttle them... they were lost without the script, and thanked you after...
Heard VERY bad things about these guy and all ocmp[anies of a similar nature... ie: when things go wong they are ana bsolute f**king nightmare. I personally wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.
O2 currently have the best deals going imo.
The peformance %'age difference varies foro review to review as usual, but it really is only a hair away. Out of those two i'd reccommend the cheapest... they're almost all made to a reference design, and the cheaper you get it then the less loss you'll make when sell it in whatever months time...
Within 5% of the 8800GT is nearly evertyhing, and beats it in some others with AA enabled.
Here's the value version, which is still branded, for £106inc VAT http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=20539&category_id=681&manufacturer_id=0&tid=cclvalue9600gt
ALso a Zotac for £112...
The 9600GT has just been released... £110 for a cracking little card, will be picking up one myself soon http://forums.hexus.net/current-bargains/131537-9600gt-512mb-106-84-branded-one-112-a.html
Man I can'twait to pick it up tommorrow... feeling very excited now! Garage just phoned to sort out last minute details and to see what time they need to pick me upo for the station... apparently they've fitted a brand new windscreen on the Clio as the chip it had was too deep to be repaired...
The threadfull of people on the Nvidia forum, plus the threadfull of people on OCUK forums, and Extreme Overclocking forums, OCfurums etc etc etc... Maybe they all just suck at computers, right? :D
You can rubbish it all you like, it used to be a factor... if it's not now then things have obviously caught up from a driver and performance perspective.
If the CPU was dead the motherboard would still power up and you would likely hear beeps.
If the RAM was dead the motherboard would still power up and you would hear beeps.
If you have swapped out to a fresh PSU and still no joy then that pretty much rules out the PSU.
I would say your...
That's alright, differing opinions are fine. I moderate a busy overclocking forum so I tend to see multiple different people with various problems and thus notice consistent themes/problems, this is just one i noticed many people complaining about.
Ok thanks a lot for the info mate and sorry if the quesitons seemed a bit silly... but I did search and read a lot of threads and there are so many differing opinions it was hard to come to definite conclusions when you know as little about cars as I do. :)
Comparable most of the time but not quite there, certainly not "identical" imo.
It's gone XP > Vista 32-bit > Vista 64-bit.
Yes it was largely due to drivers, but regardless of the reason the performance still lacked.
It's not identical, it has had issues for a long time form a driver and performance point of view. If it's the same now its only because its just caught up.
Didn't they do a test redently between the different ron fuiels and conclude that there was basically no difference between 95 and 97 even in performance motors? Sure it was on the news.
Do you have Anti-virus and anti-spyware programs?
As for your network adapter, find out exactly what model it is and thnen go to the website and manually download the latest drivers for it, see if that makes a difference.
