Insurance wont be much difference if its a new or old car, they are concerned about you going an hitting a ferrari or something , dosnt matter if the car you hit it with is 6 month old, or 6 years old. In some cases it may be cheaper for a newer car (better security) I may be wrong on this...

Are the dates of the owners on your V5 logbook ? If so I wouldnt worry.
