Not saying don't put 18's on, was considering it myself, but you need 30 profile tyres 215 width to keep the rough same rolling circumference. the ride may be harder depending on the stiffness of the sidewall of the tires you use. handling will not be made worse. it will change also according to...
take out anything non essential. carpets, wood? door trims, electric windows, headlining etc. soundproofing is either thick wadding stuff under the carpets or black tar type stuff stuck to panels.
PS when i gutted my 205 for a stockcar it weighed 400kgs with engine (no windows and totally...
my last MOT, my car should have failed....and that was with a sportscat on! to be fair, it was runnng in and not had the map done. lol
I don't think mine would ever pass with a decat, but then it only takes 20 mins to swap over
yuck. you get what you pay for. EBC brakes are rubbish. i had green stuff on my car and put standard back on cos it was dangerous - just wouldn't stop. Mintex pads are good for fast road without being too expensive.
All brake pads give off dust, they have to it's the way they work. sorry you...
Fin, how loud do you think it would be with 2x 2525 and 1x 2525xl on the 172 system all in 2.5 and no cat?
will the 3 turbines be a waste? i need the most performance that i can out of the exhaust (track car so under 100db's)
i'll try and arrange with you to bring my 172 down so you can...
Fin, let us know what solution you come up with on the OEM hangers, cos both mine are shot and if you come up with something, i won't replace mine yet, i'll get it done when i bring it to you.
Also the resonation at 3-4K happens on mine but has been reduced when i moved the middle box back...
maybe not a hot fault, could be a cold fault - starter solenoid sticking maybe
TBH if it starts doing it a lot then get it into a garage to diagnose, if not then put it down to owning french technology.....
Been looking into the construction of a rack and pinion power rack and it seems quite simple to just remove all the pipework from rack and column, remove pump, fit new belt and blank the rack holes (breathable blanks and also oil still in rack to keep seals wet and intact)
should behave nearly...
Now i use my Clio for track events, i was thinking of converting it to non PAS.
If i remove the pump and pipework, would i be left with a quickrack?
(a pas rack turns quicker than a non pas rack)
Thoughts please people..................

pedal will be spongy if air in system. pedal will go down alot if something is wrong eg leak, hoses expanding etc.
pedal travel can change, on the track day i last did, the pedal was on the floor cos i'd overheated the brakes. pedal should be firm and up the top with engine off
Talking about 205's and pas, there used to be mod of removing the pipes etc of a pas rack to make it non-pas, not as ideal as a non-pas rack, but nearly. can it be done to a clio rack do you think?

tdc sensor tells the ecu the engine speed....no tdc engine won't run
immobiliser light is off when running or ign on. if the ign isn't 'seeing' the key (electronic immobiliser signal from key fob) then engine won't start.
did it turn over but not fire or did you turn the key and nothing...
if it's non abs then it's straight forward as you say, normal spanner is fine, just be careful (WD40 first) you don't shear the nipples off. if it abs which i suspect, it's a bit different i believe to bleed, but i've never done one.
