first up was a D shackle from b&q for £3 or £4
then a powerflex universal mount from ebay for £6
then rammed together like so
a picture is worth a thousand gummy bears
i bought the rather large powerflex hanger as i wasn't sure where it would sit, but then...
much nearer for me :) although having just got up from my desk i am reminded of the fact i twisted my knee a couple of days ago. will see how it goes, will turn up if i can
or is it 1125 and the one i got from eurocarparts is a 1127?
either way a few mm either side won't make a difference, the alternator/tensioner on the cup gives you quite a few mm of adjustment.
it's a simple job, which makes a change on the clio. just three bolts to loosen on the alternator-...
every so often when i turn the key there is a split second pause before it fires into life. has probably done it five or six times in the past two months. early signs of starter motor faliure? or immobiliser related...
If you're on about the 1.2 in your profile I don't think they have rack bushes. When I fitted one to my car it just bolted direct to the subframe.

I bought two identical ball joint separators from halfords as sods law one would snap half way through the job- and it did! Just saw your other thread about play in steering- same problem here

i have some play in my steering column or rack, if i wiggle the steering wheel from side to side you can feel a feint knock. you can REALLY feel it if you grab the tie rod, which to me says there is play in the rack.
i know it's not the tie rods or anything simple, as i've disconnected the...
had a pic of the front door though. actually the letterbox and the number. i'm sure he wouldn't come right upto my door and not knock.
anyway, i just got back from picking them up from citylink and they're nice and shiny :)
just need to get some taller tyres on them now (currently 195/45/15)
well, booked with paisley freight who according to their website attempted delivery today at 12:19 and dropped me a card, but there was no attempt made and no card. did they knock off early for the easter weekend i wonder...?
according to their t&c's there is a £6 charge for redelivery. oh dear...
don't think i've got one of those, not seen it in my engine bay. did the phase 2 have the fuel cut off button?
the red plastic thing on the terminal, found this pic:
what's with all the gubbins on the positive terminal, got some weird blocky plastic thing that bolts to something else on the terminal.
i've also lost the rubber boot, which means the positive terminal is fairly close to the ecu housing. should i be concerned by this?
aux belt on the cup is 10 minutes too (plus 10 minutes to get the bumper off) ;)
gearbox can be a mission though. me and budgie from here did get it out the top in 3hrs, but took me a day to put it all back in by myself (first time and we disconnected alot of stuff when removing).
taking it...
tough call that one.
if the belts haven't been done, can you rely on the service history? has it had a major service or has it always been interim services?
if it's mint, and you're happy with the service history, go for it and take it straight to rentech or jms (depending which part of...
