Seriously, I think it'll match the 'theme' really well and IMO is pretty cool. Saw on old Type 2 done this way at VolksWorld this year and it got loads of attention.
Tell him you're going to go through insurance using the details he supplied you. If he gave you false details, thats his problem and your insurance legal team might even step in.
The irony is, it's probably heavier than standard due to the cage.
A lot of people think it's 'cool' to have a stripped out racecar. Whenever I see one around town (usually saxo's) I think they're a little desperate tbh as they're clearly not on their way to a track.
