Looks like it should be possible to take Eau Rouge and Blanchimont flat, or nearly flat. So will be trying to work up to that next time if the track is dry.
Didn't dare push harder on those corners this time as the curbs remained wet and could have caused some problems had I attempted to use...
Wee now featured on Dale's site :D

My 172 ph1 has a weird issue. I suspect it's the coilpack connector that comes from the ECU, or one of the 2 wires that are connected to that connector/clip.
Sometimes my car would go to 3 cylinders. This can often be solved just be a restart which resets the ECU. But sometimes I have to wiggle...
Just saw that Dale Lomas, who can manage 8 minute bridge to gantry laps in his turbo MX5 (so roughly 40s faster than me at the Ring in the dry), did 3:24 in the wet, which means my 3:25 was pretty good
Dale in his amazing turbo MX5
me chasing GT3 RS, 3:25 on lap 2
Best video is probably this one - amazing CLS AMG that threw off a huge amount of sparks, and me almost getting run off the road
Laps in the wet, 3:25ish on the 2nd lap - last time I was at Spa was 3 years ago, back then I couldn't drive, and did a 3:35 with a Z4 3.0i, in the dry.

Depends a lot on the tires you use. If you stay on road tires they're close to perfect but once you move on to semi slicks then the combination of the standard anti roll bar with the KW V2 is too soft. Even KW admits that if you read the email.
That doesn't mean the V2 isn't a great product...
The reason people do not weld something in the existing beam is because there's no way of knowing (without making a large amount of calculations) how much stiffer the beam will get. If you go too far and it becomes too stiff then you have a problem.
Also, different people prefer their cars to...
I'm not on the harder front springs yet. I asked KW if it would be a problem only changing the front springs (they don't have harder rear springs for the V2) and they assured me that it would be ok.
Oh cool will look into this.
Yes but with the adjustable rear anti roll bar I'm currently on almost the softest setting, so I have some more adjustability left to compensate for a bigger front anti roll bar.
Wow thanks so much!
We all know there's the whiteline rear anti roll bar, which I have fitted, but why has there never been an option of fitting thicker front anti roll bars? Yes some body roll is well and good but once on semi slick tires the body roll is just massive, and really makes quick direction changes a...
Compared to the 172s I've had, the 197/200 is substantially more stable, and can be driven faster through fast corners. This is my observation after 300+ 'Ring laps.
My friend who works in a shop that prepares classic race cars, sat with me for 10 laps and then drove a standard 200 Cup at the...
I'm not sure bonded aluminium sections such as used by the Elise can be easily mass produced. Closest you get are Audi aluminium spaceframes, but that's in a higher price segment.
Other than that, you have to say that Mazda is making a good effort with the Mazda 2.
That seems about right. I've regularly seen 500+ C on the front
After putting in brake ducts they're now usually 300+
But I did put in 2 for each front brake.
Re: Attention Nurburgring pilots (any track really) - Some advise required if you ple
I've done 300+ laps there and have used EBC Redstuff, Yellowstuff, CL6 and Pagid blue. They were all adequate for myself.
To be honest I'm surprised you knackered your brakes as the 'Ring is not the worst...
With Pzero Neros (comparable with other summer road tires such as Pilot Sport 3, etc) I've found -2.5 on the front and the standard -1.5 at the rear to be perfect at the 'Ring in terms of tire temperatures (outside, middle, inside, checked with temp probe).
This is dependant on the track you...
Re: Misfire issue which is solved by a restart - spark plugs, leads, coilpack 6 month
Problem was the programming was done by the first owner (I'm the 3rd), with whom I have no contact. I guess I could try the garage it was done at.
Guess I'll have to take the manifold off again then :/
