Haven't driven the car for a couple of weeks due to being on holiday and tonight noticed with the recent temperature drop that the water temperature took noticeably far longer to get up to operating level (still hadn't got there after a solid 10 minutes driving). I suspect the previously milder...
I've also got a reply on the cliotrophy forum I posted on saying all the mk.2's had the same calipers regardless of being a 182 etc.
In which case there are options on ebay, assuming that is correct...
Struggling to find these listed anywhere, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Front ones are no issue to find but I'm told the pins in the rear of mine are worn.
To the point the rear brakes can make a bit of a racket if you pulse the pedal when coming to a standstill.
Assuming the pads performance stays constant over their life, I'm very happy with the change to TRW.
Only been on a couple of weeks but there's a massive difference in cold and maximum performance. Honestly can't remember the last time I was able to activate the ABS in the dry on good tyres.
Magic cheers. Would make sense then as it's only the performance from cold I'm looking to improve so no point paying 3 times as much for something I won't fully get hre use of.
Did you fit new discs at the same time? I only had all the brakes done last April so surprised my pads are so low already, would like to think I can get 2 sets of pads to a set of discs for once in my car ownership experience.
Contrary to a lot of requests about upgraded brakes, I'm not needing track performance.
My issue is more bite from cold. I have brembo HC discs and brembo pads, they're decent enough but I find it takes a good number of very hard braking runs before they start to properly have some bite about...
I'm pretty sure the garage said the offside wheel. I literally checked that on sunday and the bolts were tight, maybe it only became obvious with the weight off the car?
A revival here, I have what was a similar clicking sound again (always appeared when coming off the accelerator) which has just turned into a clear knock that can be felt slightly through the steering wheel. The off side driveshaft was replaced earlier this year, could this be the near side?
It...
How much was it in the end?
I posted this same sort of thread the other week for a broken bracket I had. Was in touch with K-tec who wanted £24 for one off a car they were breaking.
Ended up getting these- https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/metalcaucho-8538068.html
They're based on...
Anyone?
It seems there is zero availability for this part number.
Apparently the part these replaced was 700784169 so I'll see if I can get any joy with that as they are listed on some sites, albeit apparently not officially for the Clio.
One of mine is broken and the garage and RPD are having trouble sourcing these, seems Renault no longer supply. What other options are there given it's just a cheap bracket?
Assume other folk have had this issue so would hope there are alternatives?
It's as much about feel too. I don't doubt there wouldn't be much in it in terms of pace across ground but when I got my Sachs dampers back from a refurb. there was a clear difference between them and the Cup ones I had on.
There may be some bias in it as I'd want to feel the difference but I...
Apparently this is the case!
How much potential adjustment is there in the position of the dogbone mount?
The gearbox was refitted fairly recently and it's likely since then that this has been happening. The dogbone was only replaced this year after the powerflexed one that was on the car had...
Compression never checked.
Almost totally forgot to mention this. A while ago now the car would occasionally hesitate to start from cold just slightly but on the odd occasion it wouldn't actually start. An immediate second attempt was always instantaneous though without a hint of any problem...
Tried shell v-power in it to rule anything fuel related out and there's no difference. I have a simple OBD code reader, is there a chance that could show anything stored without the EML being triggered?
That would be an odd one at a specific rpm range and linear acceleration would it not? I can feel the hesitation, it's not just a sound.
I've had the exhaust manifold hitting before when on and off the accelerator and it makes a definitive knock.
