You got money for yours? Years back when I first got my 182 the exhaust was shot, took it to a garage to fit a new one with cheapo cat, I paid them to dispose of the old exhaust and cat 😄
Its a block with brake lines going into with a spring mechanism so no ones wrong. Common issue on cups, could be that the brakes still work but the garage failed it as there wasnt enough bias to the rear. Search '172 cup rear brakes mot' theres been talks of it in the past.
I bought this one. Fits but probably could find a better one.

Also Im not sure on that support bar but I know it supports the column with a couple bolts as the mk2 column brackets are made of cheese.
And those couple bolts in the arches, I didnt think they would need that much to get them off, I would of thought they would just snap if you turned them...
Put the rear seats back in? :p Even just removing the parcel shelf makes a noticeable difference. Although you will still be saving weight with the deadening instead of the seats so why not.
I would only go for a dci rack or a manual quick rack to get rid of the torsion bar. Otherwise there will be tons of slop in the rack. This video gives you an idea, so when you turn the wheel you will have to turn even more to offset the flex of the torsion bar.
Dont suppose I can buy that...
