Good to meet up with everyone last night, apologies for not getting round to speak to ALL of you. From where I live in Southend I navigated my way on the country roads from Rayleigh over to Hanningfield, onto to Stock where there's a Shell garage for V Power, then up to Galleywood, Writtle and...
The Meg 250 calipers are indeed bigger, I've been told they're the same bolt locations but can't answer as to why they didn't go ahead and use them. I think the Meg 250 discs are 340mm where the Clios are 320mm. The disc offset is different as well on the Megane but it's something that could...
RenaultSport did as they used the Brembo 4 pot calipers on the Clio Cup race cars, at some point in time they changed to PFC 4 pot calipers using a 2 piece disc setup.
Who knows if we share the same hub setup but I imagine what will be different is the disc offset between the OE Brembo disc and...
Assuming the wheel nuts have the same taper angle as the wheels, and there's no paint on the wheels stopping the nut mating up to the wheel 100%.
Step away from the stepper drill bit, do not DIY the wheel bolt holes AT ALL. Bar changing the studs to longer ones you could have the backs of the...
Bird s**t! I hate it, the sad thing is I don't have a unit or garage so as mentioned it's open to the elements which brings the birds. They decided to drop a couple of bombs on the pearl so I thought it was a good excuse to jetwash and QD it. On a side note I've been speaking to a person who...
I should be there mate! Always a pleasure meeting up with you.
It certainly is! It brings the Clio alive, the torque makes the difference! RS Tuning never disappoint.
What helps is that the wheel is brand new and in mint condition already so there's not much build up to clean off. It did work on the minor build up of brake dust but as I've only ever used this I can't compare it to the likes of Iron X. I do get the feeling it's not as aggressive but what it...
As you can see the front end was covered in flies so a wash was in order, with that it also gave me an opportunity to try out the wheel cleaning products. I'm trying to keep on top of cleaning duties, it's open to the elements daily. Ideally it needs a wash, wax and sealant.
8th May
Spoke to Paul at RS Tuning and managed to book the 220 in for a session on the rollers, I also managed to have @RMDavis booked in on the same day. We met up en route at Toddington services on the M1 at 9am then headed up north to Leeds.
This would make for good comparisons between the...
Excellent choice in colour, buying second hand its basically whatever's about in the dealerships. It's down to when ordering a Clio who ticked whatever on the options. I've seen all sorts of concoctions from nothing, full leather only, Akrapovic and leather only.... Or all the bells and whistles...
Potential options:
Full leather interior, heated front seats
Akrapovic exhaust
Bose sound system
Shark fin aerial
'Black Pack' Black blade, rear diffuser, boot badges
When purchasing the 220 brand new you can tick as many options as you like from the list above.
Rear parking camera is...
I think it's the clock tower photo that's poor, apologies for that. I'll upload another to if that one's any good.
With a new car it would be nice to try and keep on top of cleaning. I'm no detailer but appreciate a clean car, it's a bit hard not having a driveway to myself so I have to use my...
I completely understand where you're coming from, it's all down to circumstances. The liquid yellow at 11.1k back in November 2016 was my absolute limit, i part exchanged the Media Nav Mk4, cleared the finance on that then put in a deposit to give me £200 monthly payments. That, at the time was...
I know it's ridiculous isn't it! I was offered 9k in standard trim as part exchange on a brand new Trophy 220. Mine was a 2013 200 LUX, FRSH with 24k.
But, what you're saying is on 2 levels, 2 ends of the spectrum in price terms but you're also trying to compare 2 completely different cars. If...
The price difference is amazing in a Clio that's only 2 years old, I'm pretty sure it's about 23k on the road brand new with no options. When I started looking into buying the facelift I scoured the internet everyday at loads of main dealers, I also had a friend who knows a decent salesman who'd...
Basically, yes! There's potentially a lot to say between them, we're talking about 2 cars with 4 years between them. The 200 that I had was one of the first, the introduction to the Mk4. In my opinion now I have the facelift 220 is that the 200 was just a base for the facelift. They came out in...
Thanks Mark, I intend to add to the thread this way as and when I remotely do anything Clio related. It's more a documented ownership blog than a project, my days of full blown bare shell, engine swapping projects are long gone (not that I'm afraid to muck in with other friends cars)
Thats one...
It is that very cafe indeed! @Dr Jekyll and I had breakfast there last year as part of our day out in London taking photos in various location.
Regards the salesman, I couldn't fault him. In one of our conversations i mentioned that my 200 had the red piped RenaultSport mats which were a nice...
