You can just change the sleeve on the end, that's all I did. I got lucky and found one on eBay brand new for £10.

Did you get new driveshafts on this? I can't remember.
If not, it's worth checking the driver's one on the splined sleeve that goes onto the diff output... Ask me how I know 😂

Can make some up with solid line easy enough, but it won't look great unless you can get the pipe properly straight.
Braided lines are PTFE lined not rubber, so won't deteriorate.
A litre every 300-400 miles, i'd expect it to look like the Red Arrows 😂
A rebuild with rings, seals, bearings etc... Plus parts and labour you're well over £2k.
I'd be looking at a good used engine.
