Sorry man, you confused me, the comment about french cars was aimed at you, the rest not. I think i know you from the 205 gti forum and you named some epic french cars in your post. The comment about people slating the clio so hard was aimed at others, not you.
This man loves his french cars!! This forum makes me laugh sometimes, why people pay money to join then just rip Renault for trying to make a Golf (one car for all men) is beyond me.
Nice vid, to be fair it looks pretty competent, think it sounds nicer than the Clio in the cabin. Really, really looking forward to seeing a back to back comparison from someone like Harris. I still think the Peugeot will be a dark horse, from what I have heard its the best thing to don a GTI...
No, the car is flawed. But your opinion of how it drives is based on ZERO facts. You have not driven it. Harris who has says it drives spot on. If you drive it, come back and tell me its s**t, then fair play to you chap.
An as to why I want it? I bought a Ph1 over here as I don't use the car...
The build quality has improved quite a lot over previous models, however its still typical french, there are some choice materials that's for sure. Fit and finish will never be a french strong point in my opinion and in a few years this will rattle just as much as a Ph1.
Well my friend, your mission to make yourself sound like an under educated oik was a success. Its lighter.. and faster than every 4cyl Clio that's gone before it, both 0-60 and round a track. Yes, its a bit ugly, and yes its got 5 doors and yes Renault have decided to tone it down in the race...
Clio is now more refined, its a proper car not a s**t car which you forgive.. Because race car.
I am pretty sure its going to out drive all competitors. People seem to forget the ST is warm hatch, so its soft and down on power compared to the Clio and GTI. Ford tend to make pretty well...
Got a test drive in a few weeks, I had the sit down and went through the options, mine comes in at €28.883,70. Honestly I am having second thoughts, only because cars new here are so expensive, the tax is pathetic to be honest. I can get a year old Megane 260 a LOT cheaper. Lovely car though...
I think the new dampers will help the clio, supple when needed but also good enough to keep it from wobbling about when you want some fun. Looking forward to driving it.
Never said that did I, they are very different, but on tech sheets they are pretty much the same, around track they are going to be very close and on a day to day basis there is not going to be much to separate them. I personally think the Clio is streets ahead of the fiesta, the trick dampers...
In reality, cars like the Clio and the Fiesta are much of a muchness. There will be very little between them on the grand scale of things, its just down to personal preference. I would not be disappointing with either, however I have plumbed to go for the Clio because of the greater tech...
I have never ever bought a brand new car. I think this is going to be my first. I love everything about it, its not trying to look like a race car so the mrs and I can turn up places without feeling slightly ashamed, if i feel brace enough it looks a hoot on track, and with a remap in the future...
Yes there is a manual mode. Its a manual box!! Its dry clutch just like the one in your car, only difference is in your car a thick f**king squishy lump of flesh pushes sticks and leavers where in the New 200 EDC that bit is left to electronics and hydraulics.
