Think I remember the build thread of the btcc car from the 306 forum. Am I right in thinking this was the ecosse car? Are you the also the Carl who has the silly low miles rallye?
The point is the Clio is a rattly old French tin box that happens to go round corners pretty darn well. You join an owner's club to buy parts of other like minded fans of said French tin box at lower prices than you would on the open market.
what our pikey friend does here is abuse this...
I offered him a swap for mine plus 50 Euros his way. It not so much for the looks, I don't like the Clio on 16's the same way I preferred my 205 gti's on the 14" pepper-pots. May be in my head but I think it handles better.
Take this as you will...
I'm 30 now and was once as you are an 18 year old lad with a lust for all things car like. I too ploughed money into a shitter only to look back on that today and think what a dick I was. My advice to you is this. LEAVE the car as is, rag the s**t out of it, crash it...
It's all personal preference really. everyone drives different.
what's the car used for? if its road your going to need a compromise setup, if its track only play around with the settings.
You don't want huge camber on the road imho.
you have just given me an idea how to adjust the caster on mine, flat out in reverse up a big curb should do the trick nicely!
I think this is an interesting thread, I know touring cars ran massive castor to fix some of the inherent problems with Fwd.
Sounds good, you checked to see how much more camber this is giving you on lock? I should expect you would have a fair bit of negative camber on the outside wheel now, should work really well on track and possibly make the car much more stable in the fast stuff with you really being able to load...
Interesting. Having a set of spare arms around i was going to try this on the weekend but the weather was too good to waste. Out of interest how much weight has this added to the steering and if you have accelerated hard out of a slow corner how much snap is there now through the wheel?
My car ain't the best looking car in the world by far. One thing that bugs me though is the bonnet has dents behind the diamond and it pisses me right off (looks like someone with a fat arse landed on the front end of my car.
I can only find carbon bonnets for ph2, am going this route as I...
Am i right in saying more caster means the car will straighten up more violently. Dunno how best to explain it... like when your coming out of a corner and the steering wheel auto rotates back to centre. Like a shopping trolly wheel?
