    Strut Braces

Guess I'm going to have to eat humble pie then and agree the omp brace is pointless, unless you welded it in of course :p

    Strut Braces

Will still flex especially on track, I see in your profile pic you have a cage, I'm guessing you noticed less "flex" once you fitted that?

    Strut Braces

Never fitted an omp to a Clio so can't comment. But a strut brace and solid topmounts have two different jobs. Most of the omp braces I have used are bolted in.using the original bolts that hold the strut in.

    Strut Braces

They are not pointless. They will reduce chassis flex marginally.

Clio Cup Turbo Gt28 Waste Gate Chatter

No gaz, just googled it as I think he's right. The truth is a squirrel has made his way into the turbo and its chattering with pleasure when the throttle closes... The noise has nothing to do with any actual physics.

Clio Cup Turbo Gt28 Waste Gate Chatter

Gaz is spot on mate. The swearing is probably because your wrong, we all know it but you won't listen. Also have a go at moving the air filter to somewhere it will get colder air, charge temps are difficult to maintain enough without the air being toasty to begin with.

Clio Cup Turbo Gt28 Waste Gate Chatter

lol, just venting mate. I know all this from my 205 gti turbo I built. fit a recirc valve and the noise will go, and the turbo will have reduced lag. (marginal amounts)

Clio Cup Turbo Gt28 Waste Gate Chatter

Where did I say that you do have one. I was explaining the noise that your car is making is the result of the air that would escape out of a dump valve..if you had one coming back at the turbo during closed throttle. It has f**k all to do with a wastegate.

Clio Cup Turbo Gt28 Waste Gate Chatter

As said, that's NOT wastegate chatter... It's compressor stall. It's the sound of the compressed air coming back and hitting (and slowing) the compressor. I like the sound myself however it is just creating lag. to try and explain it further the air that you hear going "pish" out of dump...

    Gains to be made?

Cheapest and easiest way to gain around 50 bhp would be to drop a 2.0l lump and box in. Try and find a whole car that's been written off and take the whole subframe, engine, box, shafts and hubs etc. even easier than that would be to sell the 1.6 and buy a faster car to start.

    £10k puma anyone

Obviously many people here have not driven a puma, I'm not going to jump on bandwagons and say its faster than this or that, I will however say its up there as one of the great fwd chassis on offer.

    £10k puma anyone

As a driver's car the puma is all over the clio v6. Only thing that let's the puma down as an overall package is the fairly wimpy engine.

    Rear Damper Question.

Are the vmaxx dampers stiffer than standard Renault items?

    Rear Damper Question.

I have just purchased a set of second hand Vmaxx coil-overs. I am going to be fitting them soon however I am not sure what to do with the rear dampers. I have just had a brand new set of Genuine Renault rear dampers, literally only a month ago. I was thinking of keeping the Renault dampers on...

    Does this sound fubbared?

Had to take it to Renault. Only been in amsterdam for a year and don't know any local specialists. I know with the RS its important to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing. all in including all engine mounts it cost me 1300 Euros!

    Does this sound fubbared?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WU9J8I_2l8&feature=youtu.be Quick vid of the old Clio. I think the head sounds very tappy but I know its french and all. Its 100% NOT the Dephaser as its brand new only having been on the car for around 2500km. Fitted along with the cambelt all tensioners and...

tick tick tick tick and some more ticks

Oh interesting. It may be a crack in the manifold then. That would cause a tick noise, and i guess it would throw the o2 readings out.

tick tick tick tick and some more ticks

Sounds to me like you have a spun shell. Engine light could be lack of oil pressure.have you had someone check to see of its a bottom end knock.

    Performance figures?

Was pretty much the same with the 205 gti's. The 1.6's tended to make the claimed 115bhp. The 1.9's however were hot and miss. It was rare to get one with the full 130bhp. Some were as low as 115.

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news You can see the flappy paddles. It will be the same setup as most other similar systems, paddles and a stick with D (A), N, R and then you will push the stick to one side and get a + and - for manual mode.

Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news Nope, point not missed. I know what your saying. Its the pleasure of driving with a manual box.. but my point is, what does a manual box with a gearstick and pedal actually do that an AMT don't do? the pro's actually favour the AMT. Maintaining both hands on...
